Lip scrubs are one of those things I only discovered after I discovered beauty blogs and YouTube, and although I’m still not a regular user of them (probably cause I don’t wear any super finicky lip products) I admit the more I use them, the more I like them. My favourite at the moment is definitely the Lush Santa’s Lip Scrub* from their holiday collection.
I had originally passed on the Lush Santa’s Lip Scrub, but after loving Lush Santa Baby Lip Tint* (see review here), well I definitely had to try its companion. It comes in the same cola scent which I surprisingly fell in love with, probably cause it doesn’t smell really artificial and has a cherry hint to it–– it contains cherry and date extracts.
The scrub itself is bright red, and at least the top layer or so contains adorable mini red hearts that honestly makes me feel like this would be a perfect re-promote for Valentine’s Day (the product itself is limited edition). It’s really pretty! I find the consistency a bit “wetter” than I remember other Lush scrubs being although I don’t own any to compare. Either way, it applies great and you only need a bit to exfoliate your lips, so this tub will last me quite awhile.
Once you’re done with Lush Santa’s Lip Scrub, not only do you have super smooth lips, but I feel like it leaves behind a hint of red as well–– which means you’re all ready to apply the lip tint on top!
I don’t “eat” my lip scrubs off my lips cause that grosses me out but I tasted this just to see and it tastes sweet and nice, so lick them off there won’t be any awful surprises (besides the bit that already grosses me out, sorry guys!)
Overall, this was 100% a hit for me. I definitely think that Lush Santa’s Lip Scrub is a great addition to a stocking, or it would make a lovely gift especially paired with the matching lip tint… possibly even as a gift to yourself.
Do you use lip scrubs? Let me know if you’ve tried the ones belonging to Lush or if you have a favourite!
