I’m still as much of a bath bomb lover as ever, but I’ve got to admit I have a new Lush obsession: body scrubs. It started off with the amazing, moisturizing Lush Buffy Body Butter, continued on with the intense exfoliation of Lush The Rough With The Smooth Body Scrub, and today I have the brand new, limited edition Lush Salt and Peppermint Bark Body Scrub*.
Now that I’m hooked on Lush Body Scrubs, I was really excited to see a new option as a part of the Lush Holiday 2015 lineup. The Lush Salt and Peppermint Bark Body Scrub is a festive green, red, and yellow. It has an incredibly refreshing peppermint scent–and I’ll be honest, I’m not actually a peppermint fan. However, the combination of peppermint oil and cocoa butter actually gives this a bit of sweetness to the scent, almost like chocolate mint. YUM. It leaves my skin lightly scented after use.
In comparison to Buffy, which is made with ground almonds and rice, or Rough With The Smooth, which is made with sugar, the exfoliation of the Lush Salt and Peppermint Bark Body Scrub is due to sea salt. I find it not as moisturizing as Buffy, and not as abrasive as the Rough With The Smooth. The end result is perfect for dry skin in cold winter months as the sea salt exfoliates well and the cocoa butter and cupuacu butter help moisturize, leaving my skin smooth and soft!
Similar to the sugar scrub, the only disappointment I have the Lush Salt and Peppermint Bark Body Scrub is that it does get used up fairly quickly. I expect to get about 5-6 full body uses out of the scrub. Definitely make sure to either purchase a tin from Lush, or store it out of contact with water, to prevent it from dissolving away any quicker.
If it wasn’t official before, it definitely is now: I love Lush Body Scrubs. The delicious scent and gorgeous exterior of the Lush Salt and Peppermint Bark Body Scrub make it a perfect gift this holiday season, but you’ll want one for yourself too because this also does an amazing job in the shower. I know I may have to pick up another one before it’s gone… and hope Lush brings it back again next year!
Have you tried a solid body scrub from Lush yet? How many more rave reviews do I have to do to convince you? I do have my eye on the Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub…
