It was bittersweet to learn how many products Lush was retiring, because I knew that as much as I’d miss out on those, that meant plenty new ones were on the horizon. I’ve already shared Lush The Rough With The Smooth Body Scrub, and today’s post is on the brand new Lush Refresher Shower Jelly*, a jiggly soap with a zesty scent.
I only have one previous experience with a Lush Shower Jelly, and that’s the adorable Lush Snowman Shower Jelly which was a part of last year’s Christmas collection. In comparison, the Lush Refresher Shower Jelly is just one big wobbly blob with no shape, but it has the same unusual consistency to it. You can either use it whole, break a piece off to use, or break a piece off and crumble it into a loofa for extra bubbles. I think it’s easiest to use crumbled into a loofa, because that way I don’t have to worry about holding onto it–it can be a bit slippery!
I really love strong citrus scents, and the Lush Refresher Shower Jelly has an incredibly tangy, lemon one. I understand why they call it the “Refresher” because this is a perfect boost to wake you up in the shower. It reminds me a lot of lemonhead candy, because of how it’s bright and sweet and sour at the same time. Lemon is actually the first ingredient! As invigorating as the scent is, you can also store it in the fridge for an extra burst. I don’t find that the scent really sticks around on my skin, but I still really love using it.
So far I’ve tried two products from the new Lush lineup and both have been a huge hit for me. If the reason Lush had to retired products was to make room for ones like the Lush Refresher Shower Jelly, then I guess I can understand! I absolutely love this scent, so if you are a lemon-lover you definitely need to smell this as well!
