Lush Pumkin Bubble Bar Review

Recently I shared the Lush Halloween 2013 Collection, and reviewed the Limited Edition Lush Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb, and today I have the second and final Limited Edition product from the collection, the Lush Pumkin Bubble Bar.

Lush Pumkin Bubble Bar

This little guy is just so cute I can’t handle it! Lush Pumkin Bubble Bar is the twin of the “Mumkin” which was another bubble bar which was released for Mother’s Day and which I picked up here, and loved as well, so I was really excited to try this out! Believe me, he smells just as delicious as he looks.

Lush Pumkin Bubble Bar 2

While the Mumkin smelled like raspberry, the Lush Pumkin Bubble Bar has the same fragrance as the Lush Figs and Leaves soap, which I haven’t tried before but am definitely interested in now. I think it’s neat how Lush often makes limited edition items out of permanent scents so you can easily go back for more, or use products with the same scent together (scent layering!) It has an orange flower scent, which is lovely, slightly floral but not overwhelming.

Lush Pumkin Bubble Bar 3

One thing I noticed when using my last bubble bar was that by breaking it into 3, I just didn’t get as many bubbles as I wanted. I really love my bubbles though, so other people might be able to get 3 uses out of the Lush Pumkin Bubble Bar, especially if you have a small tub. But in my case I broke it into two, and was happy with that choice, although there was a chunk left that didn’t break down on its own.

I was actually kinda glad it didn’t all dissolve because that meant with the extra chunk I had of Pumkin, I tested it out for exfoliating the way that OPI Addict suggested in her post (check it out here). It also did a great job at that, Lush Pumkin Bubble Bar is a pretty strong exfoliatant but it made my legs nice and smooth afterwards, so great tip there especially if you don’t have a bath and want to pick one of these up!

Lush Pumkin Bubble Bar 4

The Lush Pumkin Bubble Bar turns the bath water a very faint orange, although that is mostly hidden under a billion bubbles, I did like it and find it relaxing. The bubble bars aren’t quite as moisturizing and luxurious as the bath bombs but they still do a fantastic job… plus they have bubbles! I have heard of people combining bubble bars and bath bombs for an extra-extravagant experience, but I like making things last by using them separately so it’s not something I’ve tried yet.

Lush Pumkin Bubble Bar 5

Overall, I really enjoyed the Lush Pumkin Bubble Bar and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a great way to add some scent and bubbles to your bath! Although he’s so cute, it’s really a shame to break him up at all…

What do you think of Pumkin? What’s your favourite way to add bubbles to a bath, or do you prefer salts instead– or even, showers?! Let me know what you think!
