Lush Five O’Clock Whistle Shaving Smoothie

Lush Five O'Clock Whistle Shaving Smoothie 4I’m also done my little stash of Lush new releases but the good news is that HOLIDAY is not far behind. In the meantime, I have a product that would definitely work as a gift, or as a staple in your own routine, the Lush Five O’Clock Whistle Shaving Smoothie*.

Lush Five O'Clock Whistle Shaving Smoothie 2The Lush Five O’Clock Whistle Shaving Smoothie has a creamy but slightly runny consistency and a scent that blends lavender and coffee together.  I actually don’t really like the scent of coffee, but this blend is sorta soothing but also a bit invigorating at the same time. It’s much less masculine than the Lush Dirty Shaving Cream, although I’m definitely still also interested in the strawberry D’Fluff option.

In terms of using it in the shower, I scoop a little out and apply it to slightly damp skin. I try not to have my skin be too wet because otherwise it really melts in. I actually also find it works on dry skin as well. It gives a smooth shave and leaves my skin feeling quite soft. Even though the tub seems a bit small, I only need a little bit and I know it will last quite awhile.

Lush Five O'Clock Whistle Shaving Smoothie 3I had previously finished up a tub of the Lush Dirty Shaving Cream, and it had the same issues that the Lush Five O’Clock Whistle Shaving Smoothie has, which is that you have to be careful not to get water in the tub and it can gunk up your razor. I find that to be an issue with every shaving cream I’ve tried that’s actually moisturizing, so it’s a bit annoying, but not a deal breaker. I do wish it was a bit thicker, but that might make the razor clogging even worse!

Lush Five O'Clock Whistle Shaving SmoothieI always love trying out a new product from Lush, and I think if you’re looking for a shaving cream loaded with great ingredients like almond oil, jojoba oil, olive oil and murumuru butter, this is a great option. Although the Lush Five O’Clock Whistle Shaving Smoothie isn’t perfect, it is a shaving cream that makes my skin feel good, and I’ll definitely be happy to use it during the colder, dry weather.

Have you ever tried a more natural shaving cream option? The Lush Ambrosia Shaving Cream comes in a bottle instead of a tub and is meant for sensitive skin, so I’m pretty interested in that one as well!
