Here’s a post so late it’s irrelevant…whoops. Although I managed to share the Lush 2017 Father’s Day goodies in time on Instagram, I had just gotten back from fieldwork and did not get my post written in time. Still, I have tried out these great products so I thought I’d share my thoughts briefly, since you can still find most of them online in the Lush “Last Chance” section, or they may return next year (when I am hopefully more on top of things in my life).
There were plenty of great releases, new and returning, for Lush Father’s Day 2017, but the ones I had the opportunity to test out were the Superdad Bath Bomb, Stairway To Heaven Soap, Smuggler’s Soul Facial Scrub and Smuggler’s Soul Shampoo Bar.
The Lush Superdad Bath Bomb is a returning product from last year, and between the adorable comic-inspired shape and fun blue bath water, I’m glad Lush brought it back. It has a soft musky sandalwood scent, which is calming and perfect for an evening bath.
The Lush Stairway To Heaven Soap is a really pretty blue and pink bar with a guitar imprint on it and the same scent as the Daddy-O Shampoo (what a perfect combo!). The scent is a mix of bergamot and rose, although I don’t find it overly floral, but rather calming and light. There’s also plenty of coconut oil for a moisturizing lather.
I tried out the Lush Smuggler’s Soul Multi-Purpose Cream last year and this year they are back with two new products in the same scent. The Lush Smuggler’s Soul Facial Scrub is definitely my favourite. It has the same smoky sandalwood scent, but includes very fine bamboo granules for a gentle exfoliation–it definitely didn’t leave my face feeling raw, but it was effective. There’s plenty of moisture thanks to a blend of argan oil, olive oil and shea butter. This is really so refreshing to use, and I think it would also be perfect for men with rough skin on their face.
Finally, the Lush Smuggler’s Soul Shampoo Bar is purple and orange shampoo bar with the same woodsy scent. I’m really obsessed with Lush’s shampoo bars because I love keeping one in my gym bag–they don’t leak, and one bar lasts up to 80 washes! I definitely need to lather up with conditioner afterwards to avoid tangles, but if you have an oily scalp then this may be sufficient on its own.
My lateness in posting about the Lush Father’s Day 2017 Collection was definitely not due to lack of interest or quality, so even though it’s super tardy, if you can manage to get your hands on any of these products I do recommend them. Personal favourites are the Lush Superdad Bath Bomb and Smuggler’s Soul Facial Scrub, so I hope they’ll be back again next year!
Did you pick up any of the Lush Father’s Day 2017 Collection? For your dad…or for yourself?
