Lush Ceridwen’s Cauldron* is my last bath product to review from Lush, and I admit I’m a bit sad to have finished them up. Luckily I still have two more uses (one of this and one of my Pumkin) but I’m definitely counting down the days till my Christmas haul arrives! Lush Ceridwen’s Cauldron is a permanent product but it’s been re-promoted for Halloween at Lush.
So I really enjoyed Lush Ceridwen’s Cauldron, which is a bath melt, but I’m still not sure that I used it correctly, which admittedly makes me feel a bit dumb. It comes packaged in a muslin cloth which I kinda assumed was just for decoration– which was silly, as Lush sells their products intentionally with as little packaging as possible. So what I did was cut it in half and drop half directly into my bath and let it dissolve that way.
The option I didn’t take for Lush Ceridwen’s Cauldron, which I maybe should have, was put the bath melt in the bath still wrapped in the muslin (either half of all of it). That way it would have stored all the loose bits that ended up in my bath water, and apparently makes a nice gentle scrub to use on yourself afterwards. But like I said, thought the packaging was decoration! Hopefully I get another one of these in the future to try out that way so I can let you know how the methods compare.
In terms of purchasing Lush Ceridwen’s Cauldron, it is more expensive than the bath bombs and bubble bars I reviewed previously but it’s also a lot more of a skin treatment than they are. It contains ingredients like cocoa butter, whole oats, and lavender oil, all of which are very good for your skin.
I was surprised to find that when the Lush Ceridwen’s Cauldron dissolved in my water, it left behind quite a few bubbles. I really like bubbles so it was a nice surprise I didn’t expect. It also turned my bathwater a soft, light mint colour, which I think is quite soothing and relaxing as well.
Because it’s loaded with good, rich ingredients, Lush Ceridwen’s Cauldron results in an incredibly soothing bath which really made my skin soft and lovely. It’s also supposed to be good if you have any skin irritation, and I can definitely see why. It moisturizes and calms at the same time in a way that goes beyond what I’ve experienced with bath bombs and bubble bars from Lush, so I can see why it might be worth the extra money especially if you have skin concerns.
The scent of Lush Ceridwen’s Cauldron is quite light but a bit flowery, again, the sort of thing that leads to a relaxing bath rather than overwhelming you. I do love my super sweet scents, but for a calming bath that regenerates your skin, this is perfect. Overall, the Lush Ceridwen’s Cauldron is moisturizing and lovely. I hadn’t tried Lush’s bath melts before this one, but they have definitely caught my attention now.
