I feel like by now we all know how terrible microbeads are for the environment, and yet, some companies continue to insist on using them. Not Lush! They have tons of other options to exfoliate though, including the Lush Buffy Body Butter*, a solid exfoliator and body butter in one that you can use in the shower to save as much time as possible.
The first ingredient of the Lush Buffy Body Butter is cocoa butter, followed by shea butter, so you know you’re getting a moisturizing product. However, mixed in is ground rice, ground almond, and ground aduki beans, so that it both exfoliates and moisturizes your skin at the same time. It also smells AMAZING. The mix of almonds, cocoa butter and a touch of lavender and lemon oils is really yummy but not too powerful, and luckily it leaves my skin smelling that way after I use it!
I use the Lush Buffy Body Butter in the shower after washing myself on areas that need some exfoliating. This is actually a pretty strong scrub, which I love. The areas are I use it (legs, elbows) are the same ones that could use a boost of moisturize, and I definitely don’t have to apply lotion afterwards (but it doesn’t leave me greasy like some scrubs either) so this is a great way to save time too.
The only potential negative is that after using it a few times, I can already tell the Lush Buffy Body Butter is not a long lasting product because of how easily it melts. For the same reason, you’re not going to want to store it unprotected from water, so as one option, Lush sells protective metal tins that are also great for travel.
I really love the Lush Buffy Body Butter. Not only does it save time, but it does a fantastic job at exfoliating and moisturizing, and it smells amazing. Although I wish it lasted a little longer, this is definitely a great way to treat yourself, or somebody else, for example: me!
