I kinda weirdly love reviewing mascaras because those before/afters are so satisfying and I’m always on the hunt for the perfect one, but at the same time, I tend to feel like I don’t have much to say about them. Still, you just have to keep reading this post about the L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt Mascara because that brush? Yeah, it’s a bit crazy.
The L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt Mascara is specifically designed with tight-lining in mind, so it’s meant to get to the base of your lashes and really give that illusion of fuller lashes. I tried out the Black shade but it’s also available in Blackest Black and Black Brown.
When it comes to the L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt Mascara it’s really all about that crazy brush. I don’t even know how to describe it. Just look at it. It’s flat on one side and then kinda a narrow triangle with plastic bristles that remind me a little of a zipper.
In terms of how it applies, I’m sadly not a huge fan of the L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt Mascara. This comes down mostly to the formula, which is WET. I just love my dry mascaras. The brush does let me get to the base of my lashes, and I actually feel like it gives that tightline effect because of that, but it’s wet enough (even after a few uses) that it ends up leaving my lashes looking a little clumpy. The mascara brush holds a lot of product, so I find when I go to brush it out…I just deposit more. The end result isn’t terrible, but it’s nothing that I’m super excited over either.
In terms of lasting power, I did not have issues with the L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt Mascara flaking off or transferring, so no complaints there. If you do like wet mascaras and are looking to pick up a new one for some added volume and a unique brush, then I recommend testing this one out (and let me know what you think!)
Do you have a favourite L’Oreal mascara? I have heard amazing things about the regular Voluminous one!
