I’ve complained before about my difficulty finding a brow product that works for my super dark hair, and although I was definitely willing to try out the L’Oreal Super Liner Brow Artist in Brunette* when one came my way, unfortunately my experiment was not a success. By which I mean, this product does not work for me at all.
L’Oreal Super Liner Brow Artist is a double ended pencil that has a coloured brow pencil on one end (brunette in this case) and a waxy pencil on the other end. The cap also contains a brow brush, so it is technically everything you need to do your brows combined into one purse-friendly product. I apply the product first by using the pigmented end to draw through my brows–in retrospect I did overapply for these photos–then combing it out with the brush, then using the clear wax to help hold them in place.
As you can obviously tell, I used the L’Oreal Super Liner Brow Artist in Brunette on my left side. Clearly, it is way, way, too red for my hair and even though I went a bit heavy, there is no way this product is going to look natural on me.
Unfortunately, even if I could get the shade right, I wasn’t a big fan of the L’Oreal Super Liner Brow Artist itself. The pencil is quite soft and it makes it difficult to get any kind of sharp, hair-line definition, and for my brows the wax doesn’t provide much of a hold in comparison to using a brow gel. So this was basically the story of a brow product that promised so much and succeeded so little. On the bright side, I absolutely adore the L’Oreal Infallibles eyeshadow I’m wearing in that photo!
L’Oreal Super Liner Brow Artist in Brunette is one of the first drugstore brow products I have tried, and unfortunately at this point I think I will still be reaching for high end options instead. That said, if you have auburn hair, shade-wise this may be the right choice for you and you may enjoy the product more than I did. A quick Google reveals only positive reviews for this product, but sadly, mine will not be one of them.
Do you have a drugstore brow love? Definitely let me know if you do, and especially if you have tried the L”Oreal Super Liner Brow Artist.
