Drugstore or high end, every brand has been launching their own version of the matte, liquid lipstick formula and I want to try them all. I’ve really loved L’Oreal lip products in the past, so I was definitely looking forward to testing out their variation, the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss*.
The L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss come in a slightly curved tube with a tear drop shaped applicator that has an indentation in the middle. As a result, it holds lots of product and I don’t have to keep dipping back into the tube for more. The applicator is also really precise, even with the darker shades. I have 5 of the shades available.
I have the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in Blushing Ambition, Fuchsia Amnesia, Forbidden Kiss, Rouge Envy and Bare Attraction. The shades are all highly pigmented, and the product itself has a lightweight, whipped consistency. It reminds me of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams however it does not dry to as matte finish and will definitely still smudge.
The L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Glosses have a creamy, comfortable formula however I do have one important comment to make on them: at least some of the shades caused a numbing sensation to my lips. It did not feel like plumping or tingly, just numb. I loved Bare Attraction so much I tried it again later, and it did not cause numbing, and then I tried a second shade and it did. However the experience is really unpleasant so I haven’t gone through and retested each shade, and based on Googling this experience seems to vary a lot with some people experiencing it and some not, so just something to keep in mind.
The L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in 300 Blushing Ambition is rose pink that’s not really a shade I usually reach for, but the pigmentation is so good on this I ended up really liking it. Perfect for Spring!
The L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in 302 Fuchsia Amnesia is a bright, cool-toned fuchsia that just looked so bright and cheerful I kinda love it even though it’s not a shade I have ever worn before.
The L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in 310 Forbidden Kiss is a dark reddish berry that’s just perfect for fall and winter. It does settle the tiniest bit into lip lines but you can’t tell from a normal distance. I really love the way this look with my bronzey Charlotte Tilbury eye look (more details here). The lovely glow on my cheeks is the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blusher in Love Glow.
The L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in 312 Rouge Envy is a difficult shade for me to describe, it’s a red but with an almost berry undertone to it. Whatever it is makes it more wearable and a really lovely shade which applies perfectly.
All five shades that I tested out of the new L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss are incredibly flattering on the lips, gliding over any imperfections for a creamy, pigmented (although not really matte) finish. If I didn’t experience any numbing, I could easily see these becoming a favourite product of mine, so it is up to you if you think they are worth testing out.
Have you tried the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss? What do you think of these shades?
