L’Oreal Glossy Balms in Baby Berry, My Babydoll, Ginger Candy and Lovely Mocha

L'Oreal Glossy Balms 2My name is Zoe and I am a lip crayon addict. The latest additions to my stash? L’Oreal Glossy Balms Baby Berry*, My Babydoll*, Ginger Candy* and Lovely Mocha*. I feel like L’Oreal was a lot later than many brands in releasing lip crayons, but I’m so excited they finally did.

1-L'Oreal Glossy Balms 5 CollageL’Oreal Glossy Balms come in 8 shades, and of course I want them all, but the four I have to share show a really good range–there’s a red, pink, orange and brown. They are twist up (no sharpener needed) and incredibly creamy, moisturizing, and have a great hint of colour. I also think the packaging is pretty cute, and I love when it’s easy to tell to what shade you’re reaching for.

1-L'Oreal Glossy Balms 4 CollageL’Oreal Glossy Balm in Baby Berry is a traditional cherry red that is a great way to get a wearable red with a ton of shine. These are not lip stains, but I do find this shade leaves a hint of colour behind on my lips, while none of the other ones do. It’s also a case where I would stick to applying it with a mirror.

1-L'Oreal Glossy Balms 3 CollageAlthough I don’t think L’Oreal Glossy Balm in My Babydoll looks nice on my lips, it is still very comfortable to wear. It’s a bubblegum pink that’s not fully opaque, and is too cool-toned for my colouring. I think all shades besides the red can be easily applied without a mirror, and I don’t notice any scent or taste with the L’Oreal Glossy Balms.

1-L'Oreal Glossy Balms 2 CollageL’Oreal Glossy Balm in Ginger Candy is a nude-ish peachy orange, that unfortunately wasn’t a huge success for me shade-wise, although it was more flattering than My Babydoll. Asides from Baby Berry, these balms last about two hours on my lips, and while they do get less moisturizing over time they are never drying. Like a balm, they also definitely aren’t transfer-proof or going to last through eating.

1-L'Oreal Glossy Balms CollageMy easy favourite among the four shades I tried out was L’Oreal Glossy Balm in Lovely Mocha. This is the perfect rosy brown shade, easy to reapply, and my-lips-but-better (MLBB). Honestly, absolutely nothing to critique about this, I love it.

L'Oreal Glossy BalmsIf it’s in a crayon format, you know I have to try it, and although not all the shades were perfect for me I do love the consistency, pigmentation and comfort of the L’Oreal Glossy Balms. I have already gotten a lot of use out of Lovely Mocha and I am definitely interested in trying out the other shades, I think Vintage Rose and Petite Plum would be perfect for fall!
