L’Oreal makes some of my absolute favourite shadows ever (see: L’Oreal Infallibles) but I’ve never tried any of their palettes, so I was definitely interested in testing out two little quads from the brand, the L’Oreal Color Riche Eyeshadow Palette Incredible Grey* and Rose Nude*. The quads are nearly monochromatic, and the shadows are shaped like your eye, making it really obvious where you should apply each one, although of course you can play around with it as well.
L’Oreal Color Riche Eyeshadow Palette Incredible Grey is perfect for a smokey eye. There’s a very shimmery white with a ton of sparkle that’s a bit sheer, two shades of grey that are shimmery and creamy and pigmented (definitely my favourites) and a very dark matte black that’s a bit harder and patchy but definitely still usuable. As I said, the middle two greys are the easy standouts from this little quad, whereas the outside shades are pretty dupable. It is always really handy to have an eye look in a quad for when you’re in a rush, and L’Oreal Color Riche Eyeshadow Palette Incredible Grey is a great set of shades for fall. These quads can also be used wet, but I really don’t like using my shadows that way, however I imagine they would be even more intensely pigmented if you did.
Out of the two quads, the one that had my attention the most was definitely the L’Oreal Color Riche Eyeshadow Palette Rose Nude, which is great selection of shades for Naked 3 fans looking for a drugstore option. I love all three of the shimmery shades, while the matte brown is pretty patchy. There’s a pale pink that actually has a bit of a green duochrome to it, a brown shimmery rose, and a darker rose. Again, the middle two shades here are easily my favourites.
I used all three of shimmery shades from the L’Oreal Color Riche Eyeshadow Palette Rose Nude to create this eye look, working from lightest to darkest from the inner corner out, with a touch of the matte brown added to the crease. Especially the middle two shades were incredibly creamy and pigmented–they definitely don’t feel like drugstore eyeshadows! However, they aren’t incredibly long-lasting and could benefit from a primer for that reason.
Overall, the L’Oreal Color Riche Eyeshadow Palette Incredible Grey and Rose Nude are a mixed bag. The shimmery shades are amazing while I could do without the matte ones. I am kinda tempted to just depot those middle shades, because I think the quads are worth it for those two alone because in both cases they are incredibly gorgeous. Have you tried any of these eyeshadow quads? What do you think of them?
