Although I took photos and tested all kinds of beautiful makeup before I left on my trip, I honestly failed at pre-writing most of my posts. Of course, now that I’m attending a conference I’m pretty exhausted so there may end up with a few empty days but I just couldn’t wait any longer to share the gorgeous Lise Watier Summer 2016 Escale Collection with you!
The Lise Watier Summer 2016 Escale Collection is oceanside-inspired and includes products for your whole face (and nails!) in some gorgeous pastel and bronzey shades with nautical packaging. Almost everything shared here is limited edition, but I will also share a few new permanent shades!
The Lise Watier Escale Bronzing Powder is a really giant bronzer that features a swirl of bronze, pink and gold shimmer that blend together for a bronzy glow. This bronzer is really pigmented but I use a duofiber brush and I’m good to go. It’s also super blendable so it’s very easy to get a natural bronzey look, while also being buildable. Of course, the bronzer itself is also just so pretty, I had to share a macro shot on instagram.
One of the products I was most excited about when they arrived were the new Lise Watier Ombre Fraiche Liquid Eyeshadows. This is a shimmery metallic liquid formula with a sponge tip applicator that I was really hoping would be comparable to the Josie Maran shadows. However, although you can get a pigmented swatch these don’t really set when applied heavily and I find it works better as a sheer wash of colour, as seen below. I am wearing all three shades although the differences are subtle.
Unfortunately for me, the Lise Watier Ombre Fraiche Liquid Eyeshadows just don’t have the same impact when applied on the eye as they do when swatched. They are also very prone to creasing. I absolutely adore the Lise Watier powder eyeshadow formula–further proof of that coming next–but for me these didn’t work very well.
New eyeshadows are always a highlight from any Lise Watier collection and they easily make one of my favourite formulas available so I was really excited about the gorgeous Lise Watier Escale Palette for Eyes & Cheek. The range of shades is great, with fun pops of summer colour and a few neutrals, and of course the formula is great. There’s also a really pretty summer blush in the centre, which makes this great for travel.
I’m wearing a few of the shades from the Lise Watier Escale Palette for Eyes & Cheek in the above look and you can see how pigmented and blendable they are applied. I focused on some of the shimmery neutrals with the dark purple in the crease, but you could make a lot of different looks using this palette!
For some truly nautical inspiration you can get any better than the blue shade of the Lise Watier Weatherproof Dramatique Mascara. This bright blue mascara is waterproof and long wearing for a fun pop of colour on the lashes in the summer.
Applied to the lashes, my main difficulty with the Lise Watier Weatherproof Dramatique Mascara is the brush, which just doesn’t work for me. I end up with mascara on my eyelid because it’s so flexible. However I love that the mascara is actually blue, so it’s a lot of fun to wear.
One of the new permanent products added with the Lise Watier Escale Collection is the Lise Watier Intense Waterproof Eyeliner in Vert Marin. I first tried this formula as a part of the Fall Collection (reviewed here) and I was super impressed by how creamy and smudge-proof the shades were. Vert Marin is a gorgeous forest green that I’m wearing along my lower lash line for the makeup look featured in this post. I think it works with this summer makeup look but it’s definitely a gorgeous shade to wear into the fall as well.
I also had my first experience with Lise Watier nail polish and I am super impressed. There are two shade of Lise Watier Escale Summer 2016 Nail Polish and they both come in an adorable, mini bottle. Despite the tiny handle, the brush of the polishes is a normal size ands till pretty easy to use.
Both the lovely coral and baby blue creme polish have a great formula that’s pretty much opaque in 2 coats. You can see a tiny bit of visible nail line up close but I especially love the reddish coral!
The final new product from the Lise Watier Escale Summer 2016 are three gorgeous new shades of the Lise Watier Rouge Fondant Supreme. I’ve tried this formula a few times before, and I’ve always loved it so I was excited to test out the new shades. As always, the formula is creamy and moisturizing. It glides onto the lips and is comfortable to wear. While there’s a bit of translucency to the shades, they are all still quite pigmented. Comfortable shine!
The Lise Watier Rouge Fondant Supreme in Eva is the perfect brown nude, while still be completely wearable. Of course, in these photos you can also see the full makeup look featuring the eyeshadows and blush, eyeliner, bronzer and mascara from the Lise Watier Escale collection.
The Lise Watier Rouge Fondant Supreme in Gisele is a cool-toned medium pink, and while these types of shades aren’t the most flattering on me, the fact that it’s got some translucency to it makes it a lot more wearable.
The Lise Watier Rouge Fondant Supreme in Scarlett definitely appeared like a red to me in the tube, but applied to the lips it’s definitely got some coral in it that makes it the perfect red lip for summer. Plus, it’s super comfortable to wear!
I usually adore the powder products from Lise Watier and the highlights for me are definitely the Lise Watier Escale Palette for Eyes & Cheek as well the Lise Watier Escale Bronzing Powder. Of course, the nail polish was excellent and if you haven’t tried the Lise Watier Rouge Fondant Supreme, I highly recommend. Really, you can’t go wrong with this awesome Canadian brand!
Have you tried anything from the Lise Watier Summer 2016 Escale Collection? I’ve heard the Bronzer is already disappearing in stores, and considering everything but the lipsticks and eyeliner are limited edition, don’t waste any time if you’ve got your eye on something!
