It’s the end of June and Canada Day is approaching and I just want to say how glad I am for fantastic Canadian beauty brands. There are some really stellar products being made, and one brand who never disappoints me is Lise Watier. I was absolutely stunned when I saw the first sneak peeks of their latest collection, and I was lucky enough to try out four pieces from the Lise Watier Summer Rivages Collection.
I tried the Palette Rivages Eyeshadow Palette*, Smokey Kohl Velours Nude Velours*, 24 Hrs Glam Eyeshadow City Glam* and Blush Fondant Supreme Sand*, so I’ll be sharing my thoughts on those (as well as a lovely look for summer using them!)
I know, another neutral palette, but the truth is the first thing that caught my attention from the Lise Watier Summer 2015 Rivages Collection was the Lise Watier Palette Rivages Eyeshadow Palette. It starts off with a study case with the most stunning sea shell design. Inside, there are 10 neutral shades with that flawless creamy powder formula I know and love from Lise Watier.
The Lise Watier Palette Rivages Eyeshadow Palette has a large mirror that can stand upright so you can actually use it for applying shadows. My only wish is that the brand had included a brush instead of the foam applicators, just to really give it the high end feel that the packaging and shadows themselves have.
The top row of the Lise Watier Palette Rivages Eyeshadow Palette contains a shimmery yellow gold, a golden khaki green shimmer, a shimmery peach, a shimmery mauve and a chocolate brown shimmer.
The bottom row of the Lise Watier Palette Rivages Eyeshadow Palette contains a matte ivory, a light taupe satin, a light pink satin, a coppery bronze metallic and a dark brown shimmer.
All the shadows in the Lise Watier Palette Rivages Eyeshadow Palette except for one appear to contain at least some amount of shimmer, and they all offer a creamy formula that really just glides onto your eyelids. Not all the shades are intense, but the pigmentation is buildable and there are definitely some stunners in there (how flawless is that coppery bronze?!)
These shadows are so lovely to apply and blend, and I also found that the lasting power was pretty good (about 7 hours without primer). If you can justify the purchase of one more neutral palette, you will not be disappointed with the Lise Watier Palette Rivages Eyeshadow Palette–it’s definitely a favourite in my collection.
As much as I love the use of a nude eyeliner on the waterline, the one I have honestly doesn’t have much lasting power, so it’s a step I usually end up skipping. That’s why I was so thrilled to add the Lise Watier Smokey Kohl Velours Nude Velours to my collection. This is a pigmented and creamy nude liner that really helps to brighten up the eye. Plus, it actually lasts! The Lise Watier Smokey Kohl Velours Nude Velours needs to be sharpened, but there’s a smudger on one end to help blend it out if you use it on the inner corner or lid instead although I’m not sure how useful that is. I know I complain about sharpening all the time, but for an eyeliner this perfect? I’m willing to do it.
There’s no pop of colour in the Palette Rivages Eyeshadow Palette in order to make it as approachable as possible, but Lise Watier didn’t forget about people who want to add a splash of colour to their lids for summer. The Lise Watier 24 Hrs Glam Eyeshadow City Glam is a bright turquoise with a green and blue sparkle to it. The crayon twists up, but there’s a sharpener on the bottom to help keep the tip pointed. Just like every other product I’ve described from the Lise Watier Summer 2015 Rivages Collection, the Lise Watier 24 Hrs Glam Eyeshadow City Glam has a creamy, pigmented formula. As creamy as it is to apply, it does set quite quickly, so make sure to blend right away. This has a long-lasting formula that works great on its own, or under a powder eyeshadow.
I’m a cream blush addict, so it was perfect that the final product I tried from the Lise Watier Summer 2015 Rivages Collection was the Lise Watier Blush Fondant Supreme Sand. I first tried this product in Naturel from the Winter 2014 Collection, so I was thrilled to add a new shade to my collection. It comes a small frosted pot although it contains quite a lot of product (6 grams which is over double what the MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Cream Blush contains!) The Lise Watier Blush Fondant Supreme Sand is a brown-leaning pink which has a cream-to-powder feeling to it that just blends in so nicely. This is the perfect neutral blush the only issue is that the cream formula is not the longest lasting for the hot weather. However I do really love the natural look it gives.
I put all my products together to create a look from the Lise Watier Summer 2015 Rivages Collection. I used the shadows on my lid, the nude liner on my water line, and the cream pencil on my lower lash line before adding some blush to my cheeks. Such a perfect summery look, I find all the products I tried very flattering to wear.
Well, I’d say the Lise Watier Summer 2015 Rivages Collection is another hit. My must haves? That amazing Lise Watier Palette Rivages Eyeshadow Palette and the Lise Watier Smokey Kohl Velours Nude Velours. Luckily the liner is a permanent edition, but the palette is LE so if you want to try it, act soon.
Has anything from the Lise Watier Summer 2015 Rivages Collection caught your attention? There’s also a pretty stunning bronzer!
