I love a new Lise Watier Collection–especially when they include more of their creamy, gorgeous eyeshadows–so I was really excited about the Lise Watier Fall 2015 EYEvolution Collection, which is, as you might have guessed, all about eyes.
The Lise Watier Fall 2015 EYEvolution Collection, which is available from August to October 2015, includes cream eyeshadows, eyeliners, an eye primer, a mascara, and yes, a new gorgeous quad of eyeshadows. I have a little bit of everything to share with you today, and then I put all the products together for an effortless, long-lasting look.
I figured I’d start my review of the Lise Watier Fall 2015 EYEvolution Collection with the very first thing I’d apply on my eyes, the Lise Watier Extreme Hold CC Primer*. I’m a recent convert to eyeshadow primers, but now that I use them, there’s no going back.
The Lise Watier Extreme Hold CC Primer come in a pen format with a cooling metal applicator that reminds me of the ELF Eye Refresh. You click and twist up the primer, which is lightly tinted and helps minimize the appearance of veins and redness on your eyelid. One of the claims is that it helps intensify eyeshadows, and although I didn’t find that to be the case, I was incredibly impressed with the longevity.
I wore the Lise Watier Extreme Hold CC Primer under eyeshadow when I did fieldwork in 30 C heat just to see, and my eyeshadow still look great afterwards. This product is a permanent addition to the Lise Watier line, and definitely worth considering if you are looking for a new eyeshadow primer.
Another permanent product from the Lise Watier Fall 2015 EYEvolution Collection are the Lise Watier Ombre Velours Supreme Eyeshadows*. These cream shadows come in little pots very similar to the brand’s cream blushes, and are available in six neutral shades.
Lise Watier Ombre Velours Supreme Eyeshadow in Sable Velvours, a peachy pink that actually could be a blush. It has an incredibly creamy texture–I know that’s a weird thing to say about a cream eyeshadow, but it is much creamier than a Mac Paint Pot or Maybelline Colour Tattoo. It really just glides on. As a result, it’s very easy to blend, and similar to the brand’s blushes, sets to a powdery finish.
I think the matte shades of Lise Watier Ombre Velours Supreme Eyeshadows are great shadow bases, but they would also work well if you combined a few shades for a look on its own.
The Lise Watier Mascara Dramatique Intense 3D in Noir* is a bold, volumizing mascara that is a classic staple from the brand. For the Lise Watier Fall 2015 EYEvolution Collection, it is available in Limited Edition packaging, but it’s the same great formula inside.
As soon as I opened my Lise Watier Mascara Dramatique Intense 3D, I was reminded of the MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Extravagant Mascara. The “Christmas tree” brush is very similar to MUFE, as is the resulting effect. This mascara is very black, and volumizing, while also giving a curl to my lashes and adding a dash of length.
Unfortunately, I do get a flaking with the Lise Watier Mascara Dramatique Intense 3D in Noir, and it seems to be worse than my experience with MAKE UP FOR EVER. Honestly, though, everything flakes on me, so if that’s not usually an issue, you might want to give this mascara a try.
Lise Watier has also added some pigmented, long lasting eyeliners to their lineup with the Lise Watier Intense Waterproof Eyeliner*. The formula is available in 8 permanent shades, and I tried out the Anthracite, a metallic steely grey, and Chocolate Intense, a metallic chocolate brown, options.
As always, I wish that I didn’t have to sharpen the Lise Watier Intense Waterproof Eyeliner, but otherwise I’m pretty happy with the product. As I often say, I don’t wear a lot of eyeliner, but these shades are really creamy and pigmented. They are definitely smudge-proof and I had to put in a bit of effort to even get the swatches off my arm.
Honestly, I just had to save the product I am always most excited about when it comes to Lise Watier collections, for last, and of course that’s the Lise Watier EYEvolution Quartet*. Both the outside and the inside of this quad are gorgeous. The outside graphic is quite artistic. It has a magnetic closure (those are just so satisfying!), a mirror on the lid, and comes with two sponge-tipped applicators. The Lise Watier EYEvolution Quartet contains a pale, matte pink that is the only shade I wish was a little more pigmented as it reminds me of the paler shades in the Lise Watier Palette Expression, although the consistency is still really nice. Next up are three perfect shades: a gorgeous, almost cream-like golden beige, a flawless shimmery purple-brown, and a grey-leaning sage. For me, the incredibly reflective, stunning purpley brown shade is the standout of the quad.
Overall, the Lise Watier EYEvolution Quartet is quite cool-toned which might be a relief for some people. While I don’t mind my usual bronzey-golds, I’m still a huge fan of this quad although the first shade works on the brow-bone, I wish it had been swapped for something else (maybe an iridescent white?) As always, Lise Watier shades are gorgeous to apply.
In the above look I managed to squeeze in all the products I tried from the Lise Watier Fall 2015 EYEvolution Collection. I started off by priming my eyelids then applying the cream shadow as a base. I used the lightest shadow as a browbone highlight, and the golden shade in the inner corner, with the purple all over the lid, blending into the green for my crease. I also used both eyeliners to line my upper (brown) and lower (grey) lash line–a rarity for me, but I think it works because the rest of my makeup is so subtle.
Although I admit that I am missing some of Lise Watier’s amazing lip and cheek products, with the Lise Watier Fall 2015 EYEvolution Collection you get a ton of new, permanent products for the eyes as well as one gorgeous limited edition palette. My personal picks are definitely the Lise Watier Extreme Hold CC Primer and Lise Watier EYEvolution Quartet and I know both will get getting a lot of use this fall.
