I’ve tried a few different lip products from Lancome, including their L’Absolu Nu lipsticks (reviewed here) so I was really interested in seeing what the more-opaque version was like. I tried out two shades, which unfortunately are only labelled on the tubes by number (244 and 246) but do have names on Sephora. They are the Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Rose Amnesia* and Rose Comtesse*, and come in a sleek black tube very similar to the Nu version but without the floral design. They have the same shape and magnetic cap.
Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Lipsticks are a nourishing lip colour, that contain Pro-Xylane, which should helps with making lips fuller and smoother, as well as SPF 12 to protect them from the sun. They are very rich, creamy and comfortable lip products to wear with nearly-opaque coverage. I always go for the rose nudes, so out of the two shades my favourite is definitely the Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Rose Amnesia (244).
Like most lipsticks that are comfortable and not matte, the Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Lipsticks are not transfer-proof or long-lasting, but they are very nice to wear. The second shade I tried was the Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Rose Comtesse (246), and personally this was not a flattering shade on me. The formula is great, but the lipstick itself… not one I’ll reach for. These lipsticks are so creamy with a nice shine to them, and the SPF element is a nice unexpected touch!
The Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Rose Amnesia and Rose Comtesse are classic lipsticks from the brand that actually feel good on your lips and come in a wide variety of shades. I will definitely get a lot of use out of Rose Amnesia!
As a bonus, I really love anything with a magnetic cap…
