I know the title of this post says Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate*, but what it should really say is MAGIC. I know some of you would have expected to see unicorns then, and I didn’t want to disappoint you, but if you are looking for a skincare-unicorn (umm…) then you need to check this out. I have never tried anything as wonderful on my skin before which is why it was an easy pick for my March Favourites and I’m so excited to share it with you.
Right on the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate bottle it says “a replenishing exilir of pure essential oils and distilled botanicals to visibly restore the appearance of skin by morning”. It’s like Kiehl’s doesn’t want you to forget what this for– but there’s no concern there because I noticed results in ONE day. Seriously. After waiting weeks for the Philosophy The Microdelivery Triple-Acid Brightening Peel, I applied some of the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate oil to my face using the dropper on my cheeks and forehead, then massaging it in, and the next morning my skin already looked nicer. Using this product over the past couple weeks, my skin is softer, more hydrated, and even the few fine lines I have on my forehead don’t look quite so bad. It is almost like it has plumped my skin up. Like I said, magic.
A few more things about the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. First, even though it’s made of oils and my skin is combination and I definitely get breakouts, this has not caused any. I don’t want to say it would never cause anyone breakouts, but it doesn’t for me. It does leave you skin a little oily, but that is all absorbed by morning when I wake up and my skin looks great. I don’t use a moisturizer all over my face when I apply this, but if you have dry skin you will probably want to. Second, it definitely has a scent to it, mainly lavender. I always apply this before bed because of the residue (and I mean, it is called “Midnight Recovery Concentrate”) so I find the scent relaxing and I think it even helps me fall asleep a bit. I don’t think it’s overwhelming but if you are sensitive to scents it’s something you should know.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate is not a cheap product– the 30 mL bottle I have sells for $50. However, there are two things to keep in mind. One: you only need a few drops so this bottle will last months. Two: it is magic and totally worth it.
Have you tried Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate? I also have the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution and I’m curious to see how that compares.
