Katy Perry Killer Queen Oh So Sheer* is the limited edition, spring/summer 2014 version of the original Katy Perry Killer Queen scent. I guess, after reviewing Daisy Marc Jacobs Delight Edition Eau de Toilette Spray*, that this is a thing that scents do now. However, based on my sample size of two, I am absolutely interested in even more delicious spring editions, I just wish they weren’t limited!
Unfortunately, I don’t have the original to compare Katy Perry Killer Queen Oh So Sheer to, so all I can tell you is what I love about this scent. It’s a fruity sweet scent with a hint of floral. The top notes are wild berries, black currant and plum, and underneath there’s a heart of jasmine, freesia, velvet red flower and plumeria. The base notes are kashmir wood, liquid praline, caramel and patchouli which are what help give it the sweetness but aren’t overly strong or sharp. On me this is a sweet floral that’s not overpowering and lasts about five hours. The berry sweetness does dry down a bit letting some of lighter notes like freesia come out over time, although they are definitely both still there and mingle together.
I really love the scent Katy Perry Killer Queen Oh So Sheer which makes me think of a fresh spring day and is perfect for daytime wear. The bottle is also gorgeous! It’s probably pretty obvious from my blog, but I adore purple and glass jar is reflective and lovely as well. The only downside is that it has to sit sideways on your dresser which means it takes up more space, although I don’t find it a problem with the 30 mL, larger sizes might get a bit bulky that way. You can check out how it looks with my other spring perfumes on my Instagram here.
The wear time on Katy Perry Killer Queen Oh So Sheer could be a bit better although this is an EdT and I don’t mind refreshing it midway through the day. Other than that, there are absolutely no complaints here, it’s an absolutely gorgeous, refreshing and sweet scent and definitely one of my favourites for spring! I definitely recommend checking it out while you have the chance.
What’s your favourite scent for spring? Does Katy Perry Killer Queen Oh So Sheer sound like something you’d pick up? I am definitely even more interested in the original now, but it sounds more like a winter scent to me.
