I’ve known for awhile now how much I adore the Kat Von D eyeshadows, but hadn’t tried any of her other products. However, one product that comes highly recommended from YouTube and reviews is the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation*, so I was really excited to test it out. I received the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation in Light 45, which–spoiler–is a perfect match.
The Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation comes in a pump bottle and has some gorgeous art on it, which is always a nice benefit of Kat Von D products. It is easy to pump out of a lot of product, so I make sure to press down slowly when using it. I prefer to pump out a smaller bit at a time and apply (using my fingers) to one section of my face, as it dries quite quickly. The foundation is incredibly full coverage, as you can tell in the before/after below. It covers up all redness and pigmentation, so I definitely understand how this could work on tattoos, but I don’t have any to test it on!
The Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation gives a very matte effect, and you can also build the coverage further if you have an area you want to conceal more. I don’t need to use a concealer when wearing this foundation! If you already have very dry skin, you might have difficulty applying this foundation, especially during the winter time, but I love it. This is definitely the driest foundation I own, but as a result of how oil-absorbing it is, the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation still looks the same at the end of the day, no powder needed.
After using such a high coverage foundation, I think it’s important to add some dimension back into your face by using other face products like a blush and highlighter. You can see my full face of makeup in my Kat Von D Monarch Eyeshadow Palette post, and in both cases I’m also wearing the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation.
The Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation in Light 45 offers incredibly full coverage and is a great match for my skin. However, my favourite part is how long-lasting it is. I think this is a fantastic full coverage foundation that looks amazing for photos and would be perfect for special events.
