I’ve had great success with all the products I’ve tried from Kat Von D so although I had heard mixed things about the Kat Von D Immortal Lash Mascara*, I was still hopeful it would work for me. Unfortunately, while it’s not a bad mascara, it’s honestly not much of one at all…
As is the case with all her products, the Kat Von D Immortal Lash Mascara has some gorgeous packaging with some really pretty art on it. It has a unique plastic wand–it’s actually quite bendy, which is a bit strange but should help you get closer to your lashes. I prefer rubber brushes, and these ones do a great job keeping your lashes separate and not clumping at all.
If you’re looking for a very natural mascara, then the Kat Von D Immortal Lash Mascara definitely qualifies. I’m wearing it on my left eye in the photo below, and you can tell it helps darken my lashes as well as adding some length, but honestly, the impact is quite subtle.
Where the Kat Von D Immortal Lash Mascara really excels is with the lasting power. It still looked flawless at the end of the day, there was no smudging or flaking or transfer. Although I really appreciate that there was no clumping with this brush, I think maybe a different one would help add the volume this mascara needs to really have an impact.
Overall, the wear of the Kat Von D Immortal Lash Mascara is nice, but the actual impact of the mascara is quite subtle. It’s not that I never wear subtle mascara, but personally, I don’t think it is worth the price tag when you can get a similar effect at the drugstore. I would save your money and pick up one of her stunning palettes, like the Monarch Eyeshadow Palette I just reviewed here, instead.
