Julep Shoshanna

Julep ShoshannaAnother polish that I missed out on during the very tempting December 2013 Julep Maven Box was Julep Shoshanna, which Julep describes as a “full-coverage yellow holographic glitter”. I think full coverage is a bit optimistic, but it is a really pretty shade yellow-green shade.

Julep Shoshanna 2On its own, I went with two coats of Julep Shoshanna, which is definitely not opaque but gives good coverage. I prefer this shade over a base colour, because it’s got a thick enough formula I don’t think I’d want to go for more than two coats. However as a result of the thick formula, it holds the glitter well and there’s no fishing or dabbing on needed.

Julep Shoshanna 4I tried one coat of Julep Shoshanna over Julep Evelyn (shared here) and I really like the end result! I think with one coat you get great coverage and that makes this a very pretty glitter topper. It is a bit gritty and definitely benefits from a helping of top coat to smooth it out.

Julep Shoshanna 3I grabbed Julep Shoshanna in a Julep sale for $2 and it was definitely worth the price. This is a pretty shade that would look great layered over any dark polish and in the summer sunshine the holo really sparkles.
