I’m starting to have my doubts about whether I actually needed ALL the polishes in the Julep Maven June 2014 Collection (reviewed here) because at least two so far– Julep Colette, and now Julep Savoy-– are pretty much passes for me. Especially Julep Savoy.
Julep Savoy is a cool gold metallic that I saw described as “desaturated” which is pretty much perfect. The shade itself, like Colette, is fairly unique and I don’t have anything like it in my collection. Unfortunately this formula is way streakier than Colette was, and for me it is unwearable.
The formula of Julep Savoy is actually quite nice despite the streaks, and one coat makes it nearly opaque. I went with two coats to try to even it out and make it full opaque, although I’m not sure how much that helped. Yup, this is the only time you’ll be seeing Julep Savoy on the blog because she’s going straight into the “giveaway or swap” pile. Someday, there might be a metallic that isn’t covered in brushstrokes but Julep Savoy is not it…
