After I posted my Julep Warehouse Sale Haul, I figured I’d review the (way too many) products I purchased as I started to get some use out of them, that way you can know if they are worth the discounted price, or even maybe worth the full price. I’m starting with the Julep Pink Grapefruit Body Frosting.
The Julep Pink Grapefruit Body Frosting honestly comes in a smaller container than I expected, but I guess that makes sense given that their polishes are also smaller than expected. Still, at 4 fl oz or 113 g, it’s not a bad size. It’s also something I could reasonably finish, which is good, given that I bought 2 (plus a pomegranate one).
Julep Pink Grapefruit Body Frosting retails for $18.00 on the Julep website, but is currently available for $9.99 (and in stock) if you are interested. I paid $2.
When you open the container of Julep Pink Grapefruit Body Frosting you can immediately tell that it has a rich and creamy texture, but in reality ‘frosting’ is an accurate description, as the product is really light and airy. The consistency is really nice, and it feels really moisturizing.
It applies quite thick, but it can easily be rubbed in. The problem is that the Julep Pink Grapefruit Body Frosting is actually pretty greasy, so it’s definitely a body frosting and not something I would use on my hands. The scent is very nice, and the appeal of pink grapefruit was what initially drew me to buy it. In this case, it’s a sweet pink grapefruit that definitely isn’t overpowering when applied.
Overall, the Julep Pink Grapefruit Body Frosting isn’t a bad product, and I like using it on my legs for smooth, moisturized, shine after a shower, but I definitely think the price tag is ridiculously inflated. Given the small size of the container, I would probably only repurchase this if it was $2 again, and in that case I still might wait for something a little more special.
Have you tried the Julep Pink Grapefruit Body Frosting? What do you think of body frostings in general–or are you a traditional lotion kind of person?
