I was supposed to share swatches of Julep Harlow on Sunday night when I was sadly sitting in the dark instead trying to read The Drop by Dennis Lehane with a tiny battery-powered light. Unfortunately I hadn’t already painted my nails or I might have been able to use the metallic reflection of this polish instead, because it definitely glows.
Julep Harlow is described as “golden dragonfly iridescent chrome” and for once I think Julep got it right even if their swatches don’t quite capture it. This is a gold and green duochrome with an extra hint of sparkle in it. This polish was a part of the most recent June Maven Three Wishes Collection (see my unboxing here) and it is perfect for summer as it is definitely prettiest in the sunshine.
In terms of formula, Julep Harlow is pretty thin and I did find that one coat was quite sheer and mainly glitter. I ended up going with three coats, but it dried quickly. Without top coat, I had no signs of wear after 24 hours (and now I need to go take it off and swatch tomorrow’s polish!).
