Julep Carly

If there’s one thing I love (and that I’m not very good at actually doing– though I’m working on it!) It’s a good blog theme, so after watching spend all of July and August last year swatching Julep polishes, I had the idea that I would do the same thing. And I never did… until now! Thanks to the support of Canadian Beauty Bloggers.

Julep Carly 4I have a lot of Julep polishes, and some of them have appeared on this blog in various posts in the past, but many have not. Over the next few weeks (hopefully) you’ll be seeing plenty of those, plus a handful of repeats with better lighting if I can get my act together. Enough of an introduction though, now I’m starting off with Julep Carly!

Julep CarlyIn the first two photos of Julep Carly, there’s one coat of polish on three fingers and three coats on the middle finger (second one from the left in the photos). Julep Carly is a bright blue glitter of two different sizes in a clear base. As you can tell in the final photo (three coats on all nails) it can get to be pretty full coverage, but you do have to build it up, so I think it works best as a topper. It can also get goopy, so if you are going to build it up it works best to make sure to apply thin coats and let it dry between. There’s no need for glitter fishing, but you may have some patches.

Julep Carly 2I haven’t been able to test the wear on all the Juleps I’ll be sharing this month, but I did for Julep Carly and I had no issues with it lasting three days, asides from the usual brutal glitter removal. Such is the cost of beautiful blue glitter.

julep julyThis month, the Canadian Beauty Bloggers are celebrating summer with a month full of Julep nail polish swatches and reviews! Be sure to head over to Chantal’s Corner, Ivory Avenue,, Scarlet Beauty, Swatch and Review, and Writing Whimsy for full coverage! Join in the fun by sharing your Julep manicures on social media and tagging them with #JulepJuly!
