January 2016 Empties

January 2016 Empties 7IT’S EMPTIES TIME. I admit (again) that I kinda procrastinated on my January 2016 Empties. At one point it was like I was blogging all the things and I just neglected to get to this, but I really want to throw out my garbage and I don’t feel comfortable doing that until the blog post is written so it’s time to write it. And then share it with the internet.

January 2016 Empties 6I always seem to end with tea so I decided to start that way instead this time. There’s my usual DAVIDsTEA empties, including DAVIDsTEA Pink Passionfruit and DAVIDsTEA Luscious Watermelon, both of which make delicious iced tea but are no longer available…I definitely bought backups of at least Pink Passionfruit though! There’s DAVIDsTEA Gingerbread Cookieso I still have a full tin of but I definitely enjoy it so happy to keep drinking. Finally there’s a blast from the past, DAVIDsTEA Cherry Snowcone, which I drank hot originally but have been loving iced lately. Unfortunately a 25 gram only makes about one pitcher though so I have been going through it way too quickly.

January 2016 Empties 5I’m always working on using my Lush stash as sad as I am to see it diminish. In January I said goodbye to the Lush Salt and Peppermint Bark Body Scrub* (LOVE, I wish I had backups!), the Lush Stardust Bath Bomb* (also very lovely although not my favourite from the brand) and the Lush Five O’Clock Whistle Shaving Smoothie* (definitely a nice shaving cream but for in shower use I wish it wasn’t in a tub).

January 2016 Empties 3I also have a little bit of skincare in my January 2016 Empties including the Bioderma Sensibo H20 Micellar Water* in this adorable convenient travel-size I am sad to have finished. My Almay Longwear & Waterproof Gentle Eye Makeup Remover* review is a billion years old because it was not at all gentle to the eyes, although fairly effective as a remover, so I stuck to using it for swatches. The Caudalie Contouring Concentrate* was a lovely body oil but isn’t going to cause a long term change. I also used up the Dr. Hauschka Lavender Bath*, a lovely relaxing oil I added to my baths.

January 2016 Empties 4I am pretty excited to have a few makeup products in my January 2016 Empties. I am tossing two mascara, which includes the Lise Watier Dramatique Intense 3D Volume Mascara* which was great except that it flaked on me, and the Dior Diorshow Mascara in Purple*, which was a fun mascara but I wasn’t really reaching for it and it’s getting old. The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Light (2) is pretty much a miracle product for me and I scraped the sides as long as I could until the lovely Natalie purchased me a new one in London.

I also finished up my first brow pencil ever! The Urban Decay Brow Beater in Dark* was a great match for my dark brows and a great formula, I would consider repurchasing but I have a lot of other brow products.

January 2016 Empties 2The SweetEase Face Waxing Kit* was nice because it smelled like vanilla and was mess-free, but nowhere near as effective as regular wax, while the Butter London Lippy Moisture Matte Lipstick just annoyed me because the BL Facebook page made it sound like a full size sample and this piece of paper was absolutely useless. I’m always happy to have a glamorous few days of nails and the imPRESS Press on Manicure in So, So Stellar* was a gorgeous super natural false nail (see it in action here).

I also have a bunch of makeup tosses for the month but this post was really long as is so I decided to do a separate post with them (you can read all about that garbage here!)

Here are my tallies for January 2016 Empties:  Tea and Candles: 4,  Makeup and Skincare: 13, Samples: 1.

Have you tried any of these products? What have you used up lately?
