Oh look, it’s a very but not ridiculously late January 2015 Favourites! Since I was in Peru (travel entries to come…eventually!) in December I skipped those Favourites, and I decided not to do yearly ones either, so it was kinda weird getting back into the mindset. I actually had a really hard time picking my favourites this month, but all six of these products definitely qualify.
First up in my January 2015 Favourites is an unusual haircare appearance. I use a lot of different haircare but last month I returned to the Boo Bamboo Boo Berry Colour Care Shampoo* and Conditioner* to finish them up. I actually decanted a bunch and took it with me to Peru. These have a delicious vanilla cake-like scent, and the best part is how nice and moisturizing they are on my dry hair. I don’t have colour-treated hair, but these are natural options that do a fantastic job. They will probably be in my February empties, and I’ll definitely be a little sad to say goodbye to them.
I also really loved the Mark Naked Love Hand Cream*. There are several other products available in that scent, and the body wash I have is great as well. It’s a fresh, peachy scent with a little undertone of freesia to soften it out, and the lotion is non-greasy and really nice on my hands. I have been using this at home because I have a hand cream in progress at work, but once that one is done I will definitely be replacing it with this!
After my full on gush-fest of a post for the Kat Von D Monarch Eyeshadow Palette* is it any surprise to see it in my January 2015 Favourites? These shadows are basically the definition of buttery, and the combination shades plays to my neutral love with a few that are different enough to make it unique. Love love love.
I also made a recent commit to use highlighter more frequently in my makeup routine and I just love the result. The one I’ve been reaching for lately is the Essence Cream Highlighter in Light Up!*, which was limited edition unfortunately. It has a pearly pink sheen to it, and is a cream that is very easy to apply. I love the subtle effect it gives, and you don’t need much, so I’m pretty sure this pan will last me forever.
I have finished up a Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer in Fair and right not I rotate between two or three that I keep in different places. Unfortunately, one of them has a leaking issue and may have to be tossed soon, which is sad because this is a UK brand. The concealer is a pretty affordable option, and it’s really creamy and doesn’t cling to dry patches, making it great for healing blemishes. It also lasts all day. It’s easy to understand why it’s a cult favourite, and after my skin went crazy post-travel, I definitely got a lot of use out of it!
My final product in my January 2015 Favourites is the GOSH Giant Blush Stick in Shy*. I have all three shades, and I love them all, but I think Shy is my favourite right now. It’s basically a neutral cheek, and there’s something about it that works with every makeup look. I love the giant stick format, and the blush blends in very naturally. I definitely need to try more GOSH makeup after this! That’s it for my January 2015 Favourites! The problem with beauty blogging is that I tend to rotate through new products fairly regularly, but every month there are a few things I fall in love with, and these are definitely them. I also try to always put new products in, instead of month after month of Benefit Gimme Brow and L’Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder–but just know I was tempted!
