Guest Post: Sarah on Fall Beauty

I have a special fondness for Sarah’s blog Workaday Ramblings, because I helped guilt her into starting it after loving all her nail art on Instagram. And now she’s been at it for over a year, and has some gorgeous nail art to share on Writing Whimsy for this month’s Canadian Beauty Bloggers theme of Fall Beauty!

Hello, I’m Sarah from Workaday Ramblings. Zoe is letting me take over today to take about fall beauty.

To most people, fall is all about pumpkin, but I don’t really like pumpkin. To me, fall is all about apple. With this in mind, I take the time to indulge in quite a few Caramel Apple Spice drinks from Starbucks, and when I had one recently, I decided to use it as inspiration for a fall nail look.

Starbucks fall nails 2For this nail look I chose two warm shimmery browns for the caramel and apple cider elements, as well as a white for the whipped cream. I combined them into a simple yet effective geometric pattern.

Starbucks fall nails polishesI started with a white base. Like always, my base is two coats of Sally Hansen Xtremewear in White off. I love this polish for base use as it gives a solid smooth look in 2 easy coats.

I then taped off some geometric shapes on my thumb and index and middle fingers. I painted a few of the shapes, and my ring finger with Revlon Parfumerie in Autumn Spice. This is a rich shimmery brown that smells like chai tea. Some warm and yummy.

I painted the other geometric shapes and my pinky finger with Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Jackpot. This is a gold shade that goes beautifully with the brown.

Starbucks fall nails 1Overall, this is a fun nail look that felt very appropriate for fall, in both look and smell. It was fun to take inspiration from a drink I love getting in the fall.

Thanks for having me, Zoe, even if my drink wasn’t tea.

Thank you so much Sarah for stopping by. Make sure to check out Workaday Ramblings for more great posts!
