Guest Post: Jenn on “cause sometimes I’m an alien”

Jenn runs a super creative and interesting beauty blog, A Beautiful Zen. She has fantastic reviews, especially skincare and colourful makeup, so I’m very  excited to have her guest post on my blog today for the Canadian Beauty Bloggers theme of blue and silver.

Hey! It’s Jenn from A Beautiful Zen!

Blues and silvers make me think of aliens or underwater creatures. I worked up a mostly cool toned blue/silver look with wide swept back eye shadow to give that sort of alien-esque, slightly otherworldly, but still wearable look.

silver-blue-makeup-lookEyes:
Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream #2 – eye base
Dior Mono Matte Eyeshadow in Celeste – inner corner, lower eye lid
L’Oreal Infallible in Flashback Silver – over lid
L’Oreal Infallible in All Night Blue – outer corner of eyes
MAC Gel Liner in Wavelength – liner and slightly in brows
Make Up For Ever Eyebrow Pencil #4 – brows

silver-blue-makeup-look-2Face:
Estee Lauder Daywear BB Cream in Light – foundation
MAC Mineralized Skin Finish in Lightscapade – highlight
Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Delirium – contour
L’Oreal Touche Magique Illuminating Concealer – bright up under eye and outer eye area

Lips:
NYX Macaron Lipstick in Blue Velvet

silver-blue-makeup-look-3The real point of the look is to keep things cool, frosty and to make the eyes thin, angled and swept back. I totally forgot to wear mascara but feel free to keep extending the liner to make the edge even more dramatic. Extra points if you fade out your eyebrows and thickly line the lower lid.

Silver and blue aren’t the most everyday, so you may as well have fun with it ☺
