Guest Post: Chelsey on Winter Skin Saviors

The best benefit of being a part of Canadian Beauty Bloggers is getting to know the other members, and the group is how I discovered Chelsey from My Beauty Full Adventure’s fantastic blog. Once a month, I will be guest-posting on another member’s blog, and have them guest post on mine. This month our theme was skincare, and you can check out my post about my Lush Foot Favourites over at Workaday Ramblings.

Hi Everyone! My name is Chelsey and I write the beauty blog My Beauty Full Adventure. I am so excited to be guest posting here today! I will be writing about my Winter Skin Saviors. These are the products I turn to once the first Winter breeze blows across Canada. Normally, my skin and hair are on the oilier side, however, during the Winter I get drier than the Sahara Desert.

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
Normally the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel is enough to keep my combination skin fully hydrated. Moisture Surge is a gel consistency, but hydrates like a heavy cream. It also doesn’t cause me to break out or produce excess oils, so it’s a win/win product in my books. A little goes a long way with this moisturizer, so I normally only need a travel size to get me through the season. I’ll stock up on my DDMG during a GWP event in order to pick up the Moisture Surge.

Consonant Hydrextreme
For days when I am extremely dry I will reach for my Consonant Hydrextreme. This serum absorbs quickly into the skin and also helps my other moisturizers absorb better. Although the product is lighter in consistency than most serums it really packs a punch of hydration. My skin always looks supple and dewy after using this, not oily. It is definitely worth the price tag!

B&BW My Favorite Night Balm
This balm is a miracle worker for my lips! Working in a hospital, plus Winter weather dries out my lips like crazy. I slather this on at night and I wake up with the smoothest lips. Although the tube is on the small side a little goes a long way. I have been using this for months and it is still going strong. It doesn’t 100% absorb into my lips at night, so in the morning I like to take an exfoliating cotton round and gently exfoliate my lips with the remaining product.

Garnier Damage Eraser Butter/Mask
Not only do I have combination skin, but I have combination hair. I am plagued with oily roots and dry, split ends. This butter/mask has helped solve my Winter hair problems. Once a week I like to slather the ends of my hair with this butter, and let it sit for 5 minutes. The results are days with less frizzy flyaways, and dry brittle ends. I have noticed significantly less breakage since working this into my routine.

Tresemme Split Remedy
I’ve had this product for a while and just recently started using it when I decided to grow my hair out. On days when I am not using the Damage Eraser, I like to add a quarter sized amount of product to the ends of my towel dried hair. I definitely recommended using this on wet/damp hair. This makes my hair manageable, smooth, and less frizzy. I do have to be careful how much I use though, because too much can weigh my hair down.

Nivea Shower Cream
My legs and elbows get extremely dry, so I need to layer my moisturizer by first using a hydrating body wash. I usually go for the B&BW body washes, until I found this Nivea gem. It is a mix in texture of a body wash and a straight up cream. It lathers well, creating a very soft foam. After rinsing it off, my skin feels hydrated and very smooth. I only need a little bit of this product for every use. This bottle has lasted me 3 months.

Vaseline Intensive Rescue Extra Strength Lotion
Because I don’t want my perfume to clash, I like to use an unscented moisturizer. This one is fast absorbing, non-greasy, and long lasting. I like to apply my moisturizer right when I get out of the shower. I find that it absorbs better if applied to damp skin.

Curel Foot Therapy
Although I think I have cute toes, my heels are straight up U-G-L-Y. They are always dry and cracking…it isn’t a pretty sight. Because I cant afford to get a pedicure all the time I use the Curel Foot Cream to solve my problems. This unscented cream is ultra hydrating to the skin and leaves my toes in tip-top shape in just 3 days. If I know I’m going to be having a lazy day, I will coat my feet, slip on some spa socks and let this cream do the rest. I am left with touchably soft feet that are ready to be shown off.

Villainess Whipped Hand Lotion
Because I am constantly cleansing and sanitizing my hands at work they get dried out very quickly. However, I am on the go at work, so I need a hand lotion that is going to be non-greasy. This works perfectly because it is super fast absorbing, and supplies all day hydration with just one application. I am not left waiting for it to soak in, nor am I leaving greasy fingerprints all over everything.

So there they are, my head to toe arsenal of Winter Skin Saviors. Add any or all of these products to your routine and you will be feeling hydrated and ready to take on the Canadian Winter weather.

Thank you so much Chelsey for stopping by. I love all the product recommendations! Make sure to check out My Beauty Full Adventure for more great posts! Check out the rest of the Canadian Beauty Blogger skincare posts here:
