Maybe I’m weird, but I am actually really excited when I have the opportunity to review something like makeup remover, because I know it’s a product I’ll actually finish and get a lot of use out of. I may have more makeup than one person could ever need, but we can all use some good makeup wipes, so the question is, how do the Garnier Clean+ Soothing Remover Cleansing Towelettes* stack up?
Garnier Clean+ Soothing Remover Cleansing Towelettes come with 25 wet towelettes. They are definitely wet, which I appreciate as I have tried brands before where I have to actually add some water to mine to be able to use them. These are a good level of dampness, and they are also huge! Even with a full face of makeup and dark eye makeup, I can easily get away with using one wipe to remove it all.
In terms of scent, there’s something really nice and refreshing about the Garnier Clean+ Soothing Remover Cleansing Towelettes– but I can’t tell you exactly what it is. It’s very subtle and cooling and almost reminds me of cucumber, and perhaps it’s just the “scent-free scent” as they contain no fragrance, alcohol, or dye, because they are targeted at sensitive skin.
Although I don’t have sensitive skin necessarily, I definitely appreciate makeup remover that isn’t too harsh and I can use near my eyes. Garnier Clean+ Soothing Remover Cleansing Towelettes have “soothing” right in the name, and I think it’s a very apt description. Even when I use these to remove eyeliner from my lower lash line, I haven’t experienced any burning. I have been testing them out for a couple weeks because I sometimes don’t notice a reaction right away with makeup remover, but it’s still working great for me.
Garnier Clean+ Soothing Remover Cleansing Towelettes claims to be able to remove waterproof makeup with no rubbing. Although my mascara isn’t waterproof, it is Benefit They’re Real! which is notoriously difficult to get off. Because these wipes are pretty gentle, I do find I have to go over the area a few times, so I would say the no rubbing claim varies depending on the makeup you’re using.
Overall, I’m really enjoying using Garnier Clean+ Soothing Remover Cleansing Towelettes. Maybe everyone needs a makeup remover, but these wipes are so easy and nice to use. I don’t use them every day, but when I’m feeling lazy or want to get my makeup off quickly, I definitely reach for these and I’ll be sad when they’re gone! In addition to these soothing wipes, Garnier also makes a refreshing version that I’d love to try.
