I definitely consider Garnier to be more of a body care brand than a makeup brand, but they do have some nice on your skin makeup products, like their Garnier BB Eye Miracle Skin Perfector which I tried out last year. I had actually heard great things about their original BB Cream, so I was pretty excited to try out the new Garnier BB Cream + Blur* which is available in one shade, Light, in Canada.
Garnier BB Cream + Blur in Light comes in a larger-than-expected tube (40 mL, while most foundations are 30 mL at most) that is opaque. The light shade is definitely still not for ghosts, but it works okay on my NC15-20 skin. The coverage is light, a bit more than I would expect from a tinted moisturizer and great for evening out skintone, but if you have any real problem areas you want to hide you’ll definitely still want concealer.
My favourite thing about the Garnier BB Cream + Blur in Light is how nice it feels on the skin! I apply with my fingertips, and it really gives a nice smooth, velvety finish, while feeling like a moisturizer. It does not feel like makeup, both when I apply it and afterwards. I find some foundations you can just feel on your skin, and this is not one of them. I also think it’s a great option if your skin is a bit drier, and I really love the ‘natural’ end result. The wear is decent, but it does wear away in oily areas by about 7 hours in.
If I had one wish for the Garnier BB Cream + Blur in Light it would be SPF! I think that it does contain SPF30 in the UK at least, so I’m not sure if it was a labeling issue in Canada, but adding SPF to a product like this would make it even more convenient to use in the morning. That said, I really do love the end results of the Garnier BB Cream + Blur in Light, which helps even out my skin tone and feels great on my skin. I definitely recommend it if you are a looking for a light coverage BB Cream and can find a shade that works.
Have you tried any of the Garnier BB Creams yet?
