If you’re somewhat in the same age range of me, you have plenty of childhood memories of parents taking those Polaroid photos and waiting, anxiously, for them to develop. Fortunately, Fujifilm has created an instant film for the modern photographer. The Fujifilm instax SHARE SP-2 attaches to your smartphone, but prints on mini instant film. You can even use the app to edit your photos before you print them. It’s pretty cool!
The Fujifilm instax SHARE SP-2 is compact and straightforward. It includes a charging cable and the printer, which fits comfortably in the palm of my hand. Everything else is available on the app! It’s available in silver and gold, but I picked out the silver.
To use, first up I downloaded the Fujifilm instax share app. You can use the app to take new photos or edit ones that are already on your phone. If your phone doesn’t have the best camera in the world, don’t worry, because I was sneaky and used photos I had transferred to my phone from elsewhere as well. Inside the app, there’s the ability to edit the photo, such as adding filters, making it into a collage, adding a design, etc. When you are ready, you wirelessly pair the phone with the printer (after loading the film in of course!) and you are good to go.
It was really fun to watch the Fujifilm instax SHARE SP-2 print my selected photos. It even has a “reprint” button on the side if you want another copy! I decided to print the most adorable photo of my dog and me. I had it on display on my bookcase when my mom came to visit this week and she immediately noticed it and loved it. I think these prints would be great to include in a handwritten letter or note, for that extra touch of nostalgia!
Honestly, there are lots of fun technological advances that I am thrilled about, but the one part that makes me a little sad is that I never print any photos anymore. The Fujifilm instax SHARE SP-2, which lets me print them on instant film from my smartphone is the perfect solution! I am definitely hoping to make some kind of adorable display once I’ve got a few more prints.
What do you think of the Fujifilm instax SHARE SP-2? Would your print your photos?
