I’ve made it very clear in the past how much I adore the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments, so as soon as I learned a new shade had been released, yes, I wanted it. The Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 in Fig* is described as pearlescent wine tint and comes in the same metal, colour-cordinated packaging as the other shades. I adore Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments, especially in the colder weather because a)I find they melt a little too easily for heat and b) they are insanely moisturizing and nice on dry lips. With that said, I’ve gotten a lot of use out of shades like Plum, Berry and Passion, so I was excited to add Fig to the mix. What makes Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 in Fig different than all the other shades I own is definitely the shimmer. This is a sheer berry shade with a ton of silver shimmer.
On the lips, the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 in Fig gives a gorgeous shimmery sheen, without any of the gritty texture that I usually expect. It feels just as smooth and lovely as the non-shimmer shades, which is quite a relief. Similar to the other balms, it lasts a few hours and feels incredibly moisturizing when applied. It also has a citrus like scent, although for some reason I find this one less lemon and more sweet than the others.
Although I don’t usually reach for shimmery shades, I actually quite like the look of the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 in Fig, because there’s something a bit glamorous and holiday about it. I do find that as it wears away the shimmer is left behind, so I don’t think it’s quite an every day shade for me like the others, but a great way to glam up a makeup look without sacrificing the comfort of your lips!
I honestly never met a Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment I didn’t like, and I don’t think I ever will. These are one of my very favourite lip products, and with the holidays coming there are some amazing sets with a great value to pick up, many which include the new shade Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 in Fig. While I will still get more use out of the non-shimmer options, I love that this feels just as great on the lips and I think this is quite pretty for fall and winter.
What shade do you think will be next in the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment line? Maybe a Lavender or Orchid, a sheer pale purple shade, since many are named after flowers?
