I really love perfumes, and if I’m honest, most of the ones I love are pretty pricey. I feel like in general, high end perfumes have less of that alcoholic, body mist aroma and are more likely to be complex and long-lasting. Unfortunately, that also means a higher price tag. I have used bargain fragrance websites before, so when FragranceNet.com reached out to me about doing a review, I was thrilled to collaborate.
FragranceNet.com has been around since 1997, and has affordable prices for high end fragrance, as well as makeup, skincare and haircare options. When I had the opportunity to pick any fragrance to review, I instantly knew I wanted to share Prada Candy* with you. I thought I had been lusting over this scent for a year, but when I checked Chantal’s blog post (who first inspired me) I realized she actually purchased it 2 years ago. So to say I was excited to finally have a bottle is definitely an understatement.
I received the Prada Candy in the 2.7 oz (80 mL) format but there is also a 1.7 oz bottle for sale on FragranceNet.com. The Prada Candy scents–this is the original which first launched in 2011–all have the same style of packaging. The bottle has a cylindrical shape with a black cap that you press down to sprays. The perfume itself is an amber colour, and there’s a bright pink rim with the Prada logo on it.
Although the packaging is very similar to the Prada Candy Florale I reviewed last year, the scent inside Prada Candy is nothing like that light floral fragrance. Prada Candy has a sweet, warm scent that includes notes of caramel, vanilla, benzoin and musk. This is definitely a gourmand scent–it smells like dessert–but it’s not overwhelming. When it first arrived, I sprayed it into the air. When I walked into another room a few minutes later, enough had transferred to me that my boyfriend (who never comments on fragrance) asked me what smelled so good.
I’m honestly obsessed with this Prada Candy. It’s the perfect fall-winter scent, when you want something sweet and comforting but with a slightly sensual edge to it, almost like creme brulee. Whenever I wear this, I keep bringing my nose to my arm to smell it again. That’s true love.
Just like the treat it is named after, Prada Candy is an irresistible scent. I definitely recommend checking out FragranceNet.com if you are interested in picking up this fragrance too! There is currently at 25% off promotion which makes their scents an even better deal. There are so many options it’s hard to pick what would be next on my wishlist, but I’m definitely interested in Tom Ford Black Orchid, a classic cold weather scent.
