I have a lot of makeup, and that’s not going to change any time soon (although I am constantly giving stuff away, I swear). That said, there’s nothing sadder than the idea of a product I like expiring or being neglected, so after a one-year-hiatus from Project Pan, I’m back with a Finish 5 By Fall 2015 Edition.
I did a Finish 5 By Fall in 2014 (you can see my finale post here) and I actually did a great job finishing 3 of the products. Only one product–that lipstick–is still hanging around but there’s just a tiny bit left and maybe I can finish it this summer too. I took inspiration from last year when picking my products this time, and went with four makeup and a fragrance, products for the whole face, and everything has at least some use.
Okay so I was desperately trying to finish a cream blush for basically a year and I didn’t even hit pan. The blush itself was really nice (from MUA) but only cost about $3, and it had the lid broken off, the lid had turned kinda weird although the blush was still great it had started to get a little dusty. So I finally accepted that it was ridiculous and I was never going to finish it…and promptly added another one to my Finish 5 By Fall 2015.
I have gotten quite a bit of use out of the Make Up For Ever HD Cream Blush in #225*, but obviously haven’t hit pan. However it might be the smallest cream blush I own (2.8 grams), it’s a great shade for summer, I really love it, and it’s always nice to finish up more expensive products. Half the products in this post are press samples, but that doesn’t mean I want to let a pricey product go to waste!
I picked up this Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadow Rio de Rose Gold as a part of a Christmas set, and I fell in love the first time I used it. I have obviously made a decent dent over the last six months (I was actually surprised how much progress I made once it had settled) but it’s the kind of product I’m more concerned about expiring. Plus, I kinda broke the packaging (…story of my life, clearly). It seems unlikely I’d finish it, but might as well see how much progress I can make in my Finish 5 By Fall 2015.
When I went looking for face products, the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Glow Sheers Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer actually my oldest one which probably means the SPF is expired, but I’m using a moisturizer with SPF anyway. However, the product inside is still good and I’m about half done (you can see the progress peeking out on the left side). Plus, it’s a light way, fairly sheer product I could easily wear every day during the summer. So, no excuse not to finish it up!
I don’t actually have that many lip glosses, because I don’t get a lot of use out them, but the Burberry Lip Glow in Nude Rose* is very nice. It’s not at all sticky, has a thick texture which provides lots of shine and a very sheer colour. It feels nice on the lips and it’s obviously super easy to reapply since it’s mainly shine. Lip glosses are also a product that expires easily, so I figured I’d add it to my Finish 5 By Fall 2015 and see if I could finish it up.
Finally, I figured I’d work on making a dent in my perfume hoard (one bottle down so far this year) and focus on a great spring and summer scent, Katy Perry Killer Queen Oh So Sheer*. I just included this in my May Favourites, so it’s pretty clear I love it, and I have made a nice dent in it. I’ll be sad to finish it because it was limited edition, but I have way too much perfume and I find the 30 mL containers less scary to focus on finishing.
Well, that’s it. I’ve shared my products for Finish 5 By Fall 2015, now all I have to do is finish them… I will do some kind of progress update, either on Instagram or on here, but at the very least I’ll be back in September with my finale.
