Festive Holiday Makeup with Courtney

I have another visitor! At this point I am just starting my official Peru tour and hopefully I’m over the jet-lag. I know for sure I won’t be looking as lovely as the gorgeous Courtney from La Belle Sirene, but I’m so happy she’s stopping by Writing Whimsy with this stunning festive look! Make sure to check out her fantastic blog which has amazing photography, fantastic fashion and of course plenty of beauty as well.

IMG_0550Hey Beauties!

I’m so excited to be a guest here on the lovely Zoe’s blog while she is off exploring Peru and I am even more excited to share my favourite festive holiday makeup look!

The holidays – in my opinion – are all about adding a little bit of glamour to your life. The air is just full of festive spirit with all of the twinkle lights, glitter and sparkly ornaments, so why not take some of that magic and translate it to your makeup or clothing?

IMG_0548This holiday inspired look is actually really simple, I followed my typical foundation routine but made sure to use an illuminating primer such as the Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer. I followed that up with a bit of contouring along my temples and cheek bones using the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzing Powder. I kept my blush rather neutral because I was going with a bold lip so I used my favourite from Nars, Sin a mauvey brown with golden shimmer.

Moving on to the eyes, I wanted to do a simple golden shimmery eye with a tiny bit of liner. Most of the shades are from the Lorac Pro Palette, I used Cream all over the lid as a base and then blended Taupe into the crease. Then I placed the shade Gold all over the lid, concentrating it in the centre and a little bit under the lower lashes on the outer corner. Next I used my Stila In The Light palette – which is being discontinued – solely to place Kitten in the inner corner. To finish off the eye, I drew a very thin line with the Kat Von D Tattoo Liquid Liner and extended it past my lashes. I then coated those lashes in my holy grail Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. As always I used my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Caramel to fill in my eyebrows and then used a bit of Benefit’s Gimme Brow in Light/Medium over the top.

Last but definitely not least, the lips. No holiday look is complete without a bold red lip so I used my current favourite combo of the Mac lip liner in Brick and the Nars Audacious Lipstick in Charlotte.

IMG_0552 So that is how you achieve my favourite festive holiday makeup look! What are you wearing for your next holiday party?

Thank you so so much to Zoe for having me on Writing Whimsy, it was such an honour. Come pay me a visit at La Belle Sirene.
