There are certain products that are just inescapable if you read beauty blogs and/or watch beauty videos on YouTube. One of those products is absolutely the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation* which I had heard great things about since I started blogging but had never tried out. The brand also recently launched a new Estee Lauder Double Wear Waterproof All Day Extreme Wear Concealer* so I was excited to have the opportunity to test both products out and see if they lived up to the hype!
I have the Estee Lauder Double Wear Waterproof All Day Extreme Wear Concealer in 1C Light Cool, which comes in squeezable tube with a precise applicator that makes it really easy to get just the amount you need. Although I consider myself warm-toned this concealer is honestly the perfect shade for me, both for under the eyes as well as hiding any blemishes and redness.
The Estee Lauder Double Wear Waterproof All Day Extreme Wear Concealer in 1C Light Coo has a thinner consistency which blends in really well and is not at all cakey, but I was surprised the coverage wasn’t higher. I’d say the coverage is medium, it’s great but I find it’s actually not as high coverage as the matching foundation. However, it’s definitely the kind of concealer where if I want a really quick routine I can get away with just using it and skipping the foundation altogether.
In terms of wear, the Estee Lauder Double Wear Waterproof All Day Extreme Wear Concealer in 1C Light Cool is oil free, waterproof and incredibly long lasting on the skin. Even when used on oily areas like concealing blemishes I was really impressed with the wear. It also did not settle into fine lines for me. This is definitely a product I will be reaching for in the summertime!
I feel like the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in 1N1 Ivory Nude needs no introduction…besides the one I already gave it. I was really excited to test out this foundation and luckily this shade was a perfect match for my winter skin. It comes in a glass bottle which looks chic, but as many before me have lamented, does not have a pump.
The first time I applied the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in 1N1 Ivory Nude I used the Dior Backstage Blender to apply and I’ll be honest, it was way too heavy. The next time I used my fingers (which is my usual method) and it was perfect. I do think you have to be a bit cautious not to over-apply, but it offers high to full buildable coverage. It gives a flawless finish and it’s the type of foundation I can also use as a spot concealer because the coverage is so good.
Of course, the biggest question is does the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in 1N1 Ivory Nude live up to its long wear claims? Absolutely. Granted, it’s winter weather right now, but this foundation looks as good when I get home from work as it does when I apply in the morning. I definitely understand why this is a favourite among people with oily skin, and I’ll definitely be reaching for it during the hotter weather as well. For me personally, the coverage is higher than I’d reach for on a daily basis, but it’s the kind of foundation I’ll reach for when I need something reliable, because I already know I can trust it.
In the above collage I’m bare-faced, than wearing just the Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer, and then I’ve applied the Foundation as well, so you can see how the coverage increases. I almost always use a green-tinted primer (I love the ones from MAKE UP FOR EVER) to reduce redness, but I can definitely skip that with these steps. If you want to see what a full, final face of makeup looks like using these products, make sure to check out my Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blusher in Love Glow review.
If you are looking for great coverage and long wear, you have likely already checked out the Estee Lauder Double Wear Waterproof All Day Extreme Wear Concealer and Foundation, but if you were waiting for my stamp of approval, here it is. These are easily some of the longest wearing face products I own and I will definitely be reaching for them when I want a flawless finish I can count on.
