Essence Nail Art Tattoo Pen and French Manicure & Pedicure Pen

Essence Nail Art Tattoo Pen and French Manicure & Pedicure PenMy past reviews definitely should have made it obvious, but I am a huge fan of the brand Essence. However even a brand I really like will have the occasional misses and unfortunately the Essence Nail Art Tattoo Pen* and French Manicure & Pedicure Pen* just do not work for me.

Essence Nail Art Tattoo Pen and French Manicure & Pedicure Pen 2The Essence Nail Art Tattoo Pen and French Manicure & Pedicure Pen are basically the same thing, except the Tattoo Pen is black and the French Manicure pen is white. On first glance they look perfect for nail art, as they have a fine tip and obviously a pen format. The issue is that the tip is made of hard plastic and you pump it up and down to get polish to come out. I find it really hard to get control and often end up “denting” my polish as I apply, or having way too much polish come out of the pen so that is basically explodes.

Even though I had some issues, I do like the result (if you look closely at my index finger the “dents” are most obvious, whereas you can see where too much product came out on my pinkie nail.

Essence Nail Art Tattoo Pen and French Manicure & Pedicure Pen 5Overall, the Essence Nail Art Tattoo Pen and French Manicure & Pedicure Pen are a great idea but the format doesn’t quite work for me. I am a nail art novice and it’s definitely possible somebody else would have better luck with them, but for now I’ll be sticking with the dozens of Essence products I know and love, including their awesome polish (Look at how pretty that pinky coral shade is!)
