I have already featured two of these three products in previous posts, but I wanted to do a proper “swatch and review” of the Essence Longlasting Lipsticks in Coral Calling*, Colour Crush* & Adorable Matt!*. These are new-for-fall lipsticks from the incredibly affordable brand that are pigmented, sleek, and comfortable to wear.
Essence Longlasting Lipstick in Coral Calling is the shade that was the least scary to me, so I wore it in my Essence of Fall Beauty FOTD (here) and it is a great summery shade. It’s a bright coral that is nearly-opaque and trying it out again, I have to say it is more comfortable and moisturizing than I indicated the first time, however it still isn’t super-forgiving on my lips. I love the packaging of these lipsticks, the embossed “e” makes it look a lot more expensive than they are, and the matching coloured ring around it helps make them easy to tell apart.
I can’t see myself getting much wear out of Essence Longlasting Lipstick in Colour Crush, but bright pink lipsticks just don’t suit me. This is the most sheer of the three, and I had to build it up a bit to even get what is shown here. I feel like it was also less creamy than the other two.
I am scared of red lipstick but wow the Essence Longlasting Lipstick in Adorable Matt! makes me want to change my mind. I first featured this gorgeous cherry red matte shade in my Essence Dark Romance Collection FOTD (here) and I was shocked at how perfectly it applied. I managed to do it without a lip brush using the point of the lipstick, but it’s definitely one you have to be careful with. It does leave behind a stain after it fades, and despite being matte I still found it very comfortable to wear. Adorable Matt! is also much longer-lasting than the other two shades, where I only get a couple hours wear of them.
There are so many new shades of the Essence Longlasting Lipsticks but Coral Calling, Colour Crush and Adorable Matt! are three very different options to pick from. While Coral Calling is a great summary shade, my personal pick is surprisingly Adorable Matt! because it’s so vibrant, and applies so perfectly. Another impressive offering from Essence!
