Apparently the last time I reviewed an essence mascara was back in April 2014–maybe don’t click that post…there has hopefully been an improvement in blog posts since then! Well, it may have taken almost two years, but today I’m back with a review of the essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara*. This mascara promises a false lash effect and dramatic volume, but does it deliver?
The essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara comes in a cute black and green tube with a shape and design that actually does feel “princessy” to me. The mascara brush has natural bristles and a long, slightly pointed applicator.
essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara bristles are pretty stiff and quite effective at getting close to the lash line, so I’m a lot less likely to get mascara on my eyelid like I seem to do all the time. The mascara itself is an intense black with fibres in it. On first use, the formula isn’t overly wet or dry.
Applied to the lashes, the essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara gives a nice boost of volume. You can also see it in action in my Rebellious Valentine’s Day Makeup Look. However, I don’t find it to especially dramatic, and the fibres me that it can be a little clumpy, especially as the formula starts to dry out over time.
Even though I was hoping for a bit more drama from the essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara, it makes a great daily mascara. In particular, there is one special quality that has me reaching for it regularly–it has not been flaking on me! Most mascaras tend to flake on me so I am willing to be lenient on everything else if it passes that challenge.
In addition to the essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara, there’s a essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara, which has a very different brush and I have heard good things about so I’m definitely intrigued. Have you tried an essence mascara before? They have so many options, I’d love to know what your favourite is!
