I wrote a pretty meh review of the original eos Lip Balms, so honestly, if a surprise package with the new eos Visibly Soft Lip Balm in Coconut Milk* hadn’t shown up in my mailbox, I can’t see myself having tried it out. But who can resist an adorable matching notebook and lip balm?
eos Visibly Soft Lip Balm is available in two scents so far, Coconut Milk as well as Vanilla Mint. You may know that I have a bit of an intense dislike for coconut scents, so unfortunately this was off to a bad start. It’s a creamy coconut scent that perfectly matches its name, but scent-wise this was not for me and Vanilla Mint sounds way yummier. However, in addition to the scent, there’s the same sweet taste to the balm as the original which I don’t like, as I prefer my lip products to be tasteless.
Packaging-wise, eos Visibly Soft Lip Balm in Coconut Milk sticks quite closely to the original with only difference being the swirls. They are slightly raised, and meant to mimic the “buttery richness” of the product. I really adore eos packaging as it’s quite adorable and great to find in your purse, though not pocket-friendly.
Inside the packaging, the eos Visibly Soft Lip Balm in Coconut Milk is surprisingly richer and more moisturizing on the lips compared to the original, which I found not very effective. This is creamy and lovely, enriched with ingredients like shea butter, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C. It’s still not incredibly-long lasting, but it does leave my lips softer and feels great during the winter months. If only I could get over the scent and taste, it would be a winner.
It’s pretty clear why eos Visibly Soft Lip Balm in Coconut Milk wasn’t a flawless match for my own preferences, but I honestly think if you liked the original these are worth trying out. If the reason you didn’t like the original was because it wasn’t moisturizing enough on your lips? eos has made a real improvement to the formula with these new balms. If they get ever rid of the taste, I will definitely pick another one up!
