Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black

Elizabeth and James Nirvana BlackI have been hearing a lot about Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black*, as well as its sister fragrance Nirvana White, since they were released last year and being the perfume-junkie that I am, I couldn’t wait to try it out. I tested out a rollerball, which has sleek, simple packaging, but honestly, the perfume bottle is even cooler.

Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black 2Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black is from a fashion brand created by Mary-Kate and Ashley Oslen and contains three accords: violet, sandalwood and vanilla, which make it the perfect fall or winter fragrance. At first it reminds me of Choward’s Violet Mints, which my mom always loved, but over time unfortunately the violet does become less noticeable. The violet is actually my favourite component of the fragrance due to how unique and lovely it is. However, all three elements are noticeable within Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black , including the sandalwood makes the scent muskier and more unisex, while the vanilla adds a creamy warmth to it.

Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black 3The lasting power of Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black is just okay for me, as after a few hours it begins to fade and becomes quite subtle by around 5 or 6 hours. I am glad I have a rollerball because it’s so convenient for taking with me and refreshing, something I am tempted to do constantly because I love the scent so much. Definitely a new favourite, I am currently lusting over the full size bottle…

Have you smelled Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black? I highly recommend giving a tester a spray next time you’re at Sephora!
