EcoTools is an eco-friendly and affordable brand I have heard a lot of great things about but never really tried out which is why I was excited to test two of their new spring releases, the EcoTools Skin Perfecting Brush* and EcoTools Pure Complexion Facial Sponge*.
I don’t own many makeup brushes, and most of the ones I do own I don’t really like, so I was definitely really excited to see what the EcoTools Skin Perfecting Brush could do. This is a very densely packed brush that is synthetic and quite soft. The brush is angled which makes it great for reaching around your nose and other angles.
I usually apply BB creams with my fingers, but that’s what the EcoTools Skin Perfecting Brush is for. In comparison, the brush gave me a far more even finish which makes the product look much nicer on my skin. I do feel like the brush soaks up some product so it requires more than if I were to apply with my fingers. As a result, I feel like I need to wash the brush fairly often, but it is easy to do and I didn’t experience any shedding. I also tried out this brush on cream blush and it did a great job, giving a lovely finish but allowing me to build up the colour as well. I really liked using this brush and it is a great way to keep your fingers clean!
The second product I tried out was the EcoTools Pure Complexion Facial Sponge. Again, I usually cleanse my face just using my hands and maybe a wash cloth, so I was interested to see what the sponge could provide that would be different. Again, I was really impressed! It absorbs water and becomes quite “squishy” but still gives a very gentle scrub to the skin. I like using this with my Marcelle Gentle Cleansing Gel* and it does a great job cleaning my skin without being too harsh for daily use. The only complaint I have is that although it does dry, I find it a bit awkward to leave out to dry. However, using a soap dish for it would be a good option. It also says to replace every 1-3 months and I definitely think that would be necessary.
Overall, two new products and I’m quite happy with both the EcoTools Skin Perfecting Brush and Pure Complexion Facial Sponge. Although I don’t use either every time I put on makeup or cleanse my face both products have definitely found a place in my routine and I would be very interested to try out more products from EcoTools in the future. I have heard great things about the rest of their brushes and I definitely have my eye on a few.
Do you use anything from EcoTools? Let me know if there’s a product you recommend!
