Hi there readers! My name’s Jenna. Zoe has been so kind to let me post for her Today as part of the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Network guest posting series. Usually I blog over at Northern Beauty about all things affordable beauty. Thanks for reading today!
There’s something about February that puts me in a pink frame of mind. Okay, yes, Valentine’s Day might have quite a bit to do with this but I also think that this is the month I start thinking about Spring. Ahhh Spring, that blooming, refreshing season. Up here in the North, we don’t really see real spring till April or May, but we start getting flashes of it now and it just renews the spirit.
With pink in mind, I rounded up my favorite pink drugstore products from my collection. These little beauties have been standby products for me that I reach for time and time again. And with Spring coming….hopefully…..I’ll be rocking them for a fresh, pretty look!
Hard Candy Baked Blush in 127 Honeymoon: This was one of the first products I bought and reviewed as a beauty blogger (wow, that was close to 2 years ago now!). Sometimes those early products weren’t as good as I thought they were but this one is still a regular in my collection. This product acts as both blush and highlight, leaving a lovely pale pink lite glow on the cheeks. I tend to reserve for the top of my cheekbones.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser in 160 Brightener: If you read beauty blogs or watch beauty videos, this one will be nothing new. It’s an under-eye concealer that is applied with the round sponge on top. I use the shade brightener, which is a pale salmon-pink shade that acts as a corrector on my fair skin. I also use it to highlight the bridge of my nose, forehead, Cupid’s bow and chin. Super easy to blend out and open up the face!
L’Oreal Magic Smooth Soufflé Blush in 840 Celestial: I’ve had this product for long enough that I’m wondering if it’s time to chuck it due to expiration issues…but I just don’t want to give it up! I haven’t seen this product in stores for a while although you can still find it on the US sites. It’s a mousse whipped texture that you spread in and blend out with your fingers and this pale, rosy pink is pure perfection for a spring look. I can’t get enough (I really should take to the World Wide Web and order another).
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in 205 Elusive: This line of minty stick balms are one of my favorite! But when I want a romantic, matte lip I always reach for this one first. It’s a mid-tone rose pink, which means it’s not too pale but not too dark either. And the minty taste of this product is pretty awakening. I tend to carry this product around in my purse 24/7.
Maybelline Color Molten in 300 Nude Rush: I relatively new favorite of mine, yet I thought it very worthy of joining this list. Another product that has a mousse/gel like consistency, it glides on super smooth and blends out great with just your fingers. I use the pink side a lot to just even out my eyelids and add a little subtle pink. Great for weekends or when you’re emphasizing a great lip color.
Thanks so much to Jenna for stopping by Writing Whimsy! I actually discovered her blog thanks to the CBB, and I’m so glad I did. It is filled with budget-friendly makeup and some really handy beauty hacks as well. She even has a YouTube channel!
Do you have any favourite pink drugstore products? Lately I’m obsessing over my L’Oreal Colour Riche Caresse Wet Shine Stain in Rose On and On. Also, shh–I still desperately need to try the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser! And now I want one of those soufflé blushes…
