Yesterday I shared three shades from the new 2015 Dior Addict Lipstick lineup, and today I’m back with two polish shades that compliment it. There are actually 4 “It Girl” shades in the Dior Addict line and each of them have a new Dior Vernis to match. I have the Dior Vernis in Smile* and Be Dior* to share, but there are also polishes available for Tribale and Wonderful.
Dior Vernis come in a rectangular bottle with silver cap you can remove to reveal a smaller handle to use when painting your nails. I find it quite easy to hold, and the Dior brush is easily one of my favourites. It’s fairly large and it takes about 2 swipes to apply across an entire nail. I haven’t had a dud brush yet, they all give a crisp, clean line at the cuticle.
Dior Vernis in Smile (552) is an orange coral with a golden sheen to it. I used 2 coats which is really very almost opaque, so I probably should have made them a bit thicker. There’s definitely more a shimmer in the bottle than on the nail, but this is a juicy, summery shade with a very shiny finish.
I don’t have the Dior Addict in Smile, but what I have gathered based on online swatches is that none of these duos is totally “matchy matchy”, it’s a similar shade that compliments the lipstick but doesn’t look like you applied the exact same thing to your lips and nails.
Dior Vernis in Be Dior (892) is a berry plum with a subtle shimmer to it. This shade is nearly opaque with 1 coat, although I went with 2 for the most even application and finish. It’s a really gorgeous berry with more visible shimmer than Smile, and it’s just perfect for fall.
I think it’s really neat that Dior launched complimentary polishes to go with their new Dior Addict Lipstick line, but even if you aren’t a fan of the lip colours maybe you will find a polish you must have! What do you think?
