Okay, I know it’s July, but it’s actually the end of the July and what that means is that it’s practically August which means it’s almost the Fall so sharing Fall Collections is totally reasonable. The Dior Fall 2015 Collection is available starting August 1st and over the next week or two I’ll be sharing reviews so you can get your shopping list ready, starting with the Dior Rouge Dior Lipsticks for Fall 2015 in Nouvelle Femme*, Continental* and Unique*.
The Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick is a creamy, pigmented and moisturizing formula. It comes in a sleek, but fairly standard black tube with the Dior touch. There’s a CD log on on the top of the lid as well as a jeweled silver accent. The tubes have a nice weight to them although they do like fingerprints.
Dior Rouge Dior Lipsticks have a rose scent and the word Dior embossed directly on them. They also have a slanted tip which makes even the darker shades fairly easy to apply, although I would still use a mirror. There are three limited edition Dior Rouge Dior Lipsticks for Fall 2015, including Nouvelle Femme, Continental and Unique.
Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in Nouvelle Femme is a peachy pink and the least “fall” of the trio, but given how early Fall collections launch, it’s a nice shade to have and definitely still wearable year-round. Nouvelle Femme is fairly opaque and although I find it a little uneven up close, it actually looks pretty good as long as you’re not an inch from my mouth–which is why I like to do face shots as well as lip swatches when I can! It is very shiny, which I think helps hide the imperfections.
Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in Continental is my favourite kind of brown rose shade, and I found it had the most even pigmentation of the three. All the shades have a very glossy finish that provides a bit of a plumping effect to the lips. They are lightweight and feel a little slippery but overall quite creamy and comfortable to wear. I also found them to have nice wear for a shiny lipstick. The Dior Rouge Dior Lipsticks obviously aren’t going to last as long as a drying matte, but I got about 4-5 hours of wear which is quite good for me. However because they transfer, I do remove before eating.
Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in Unique is the shade I was a little scared of, because it actually looked kinda brown to me in the tube, but it turns out to be a really dark, vampy red. It’s slightly sheer and it does pool in line lines, so I think this shade would be best with a lip liner to keep it from moving around. You do want to watch your teeth with Unique, but I think it makes a great statement for Fall. I’m always a little nervous about how dark shades will wear away and while it’s definitely not transfer-proof, it does fade evenly, leaving behind a light stain on the lips. I actually really like this shade, I just have to be confident enough to wear it out of the apartment!
There’s a trio of Dior Rouge Dior Lipsticks for Fall 2015 and I think the shades cover something for almost everyone, a peachy pink, a browny rose and a vampy red. I love the pigmentation and moisturizing formula, but as always my heart belongs to the neutral, Continental. Which one is your favourite?
