While lip products might be my favourite to purchase, if there’s one makeup product I could not go without it’s concealer. My skin is a lot better than it used to be, but it’s pretty magical what a dab of concealer can do on a day I don’t feel my best. Since my favourite concealer is UK-exclusive, I’m always looking for one I can purchase in this country, which brings us to the newly launched Dior Fix It 2-In-1 Prime & Conceal*, available in three shades which I have to share.
The Dior Fix It 2-In-1 Prime & Conceal comes in a clear plastic tube that is very similar in aesthetic to the Dior Addict Lipstick, as the metal pulls out using the rounded end. This is an incredibly travel-friendly, purse-friendly product because it’s a creamy stick that doesn’t leak and is easy to reapply. I touch my face a lot throughout the day, so if I was going out in the evening I’d definitely want to touch up my concealer, and the Dior Fix It 2-In-1 Prime & Conceal makes that easy to do.
Although I use it as a concealer, the Dior Fix It 2-In-1 Prime & Conceal is actually exactly what the name says, both a primer and concealer. While the outside of the tube is a coloured concealer, the inside is a primer that helps even and smooth out skin.
You can use the Dior Fix It on your eyes, lips, or face, and I have tried it as an eyeshadow primer. It does extend the wear of eyeshadows but I don’t find it nearly as effective as my Urban Decay Primer Potion for that purpose and would only use it if I really was traveling with very few items. The only place I haven’t used the Dior Fix It is on my lips, but I definitely see how it could be used to neutralize your lip colour, that’s just not something I’m interested in doing.
In terms of the shade range of the Dior Fix It 2-In-1 Prime & Conceal, it’s obviously quite limited, but hopefully they will expand if the product does well. I’m actually a mix of Fair and Medium, but I can use Fair for areas I want to brighten. The creamy consistency of the product blends out quite nicely, so I can still get away with Medium in areas I want to conceal.
While I can’t say I’ve found my one true North American concealer love quite yet, I have really been enjoying the Dior Fix It 2-In-1 Prime & Conceal. It does a great job covering up any redness or pigmentation, but I find that if you have any healing blemishes with dry patches it’s not quite as good as a liquid concealer. I’ve actually never really used a concealer for brightening purposes before, but I am really enjoying doing that with the Dior Fix It 2-In-1 Prime & Conceal. I’m also really impressed by the lasting power.
I’ve been playing around with the Dior Fix It 2-In-1 Prime & Conceal for a couple weeks now and it has become my go-to concealer. I think if you’re looking for a long lasting, brightening shade or a concealer for lighter work that is super easy to apply and very convenient to use you definitely need to try out this product. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if you see a Dior Fix It 2-In-1 Prime & Conceal in my empties in a few months! Possibly even two of them since I’m using both the Fair and Medium shades…
Quick question: what are the odds I can use the Dark shade as a cream contour? And if not, when will Dior release that product because a formula like this would be great for it!
