It’s a really sad day. This is the last post I have to share of Dior Summer 2016 products and I’m going to miss reviewing all this gorgeous items. I mean, is it time for the Fall Collection yet? This post is a part of the Dior Diorshow Summer 2016 lineup, which includes the Dior Diorshow All-in-Brow 3D Palette (reviewed here) and Diorshow Mono Eyeshadows (reviewed here) and Diorshow Mascaras (reviewed here). The final releases are four new shades of the Dior Diorshow Waterproof Pro Liners.
I have the Dior Diorshow Waterproof Pro-Liner in Pro Anthracite #082 (permanent), Backstage Black #092 (permanent) and Pro Mahogany #772 (limited edition), although Backstage Black was previously available. The four new shades also include Pro Magenta (limited edition) and Pro Navy (permanent).
The most unique feature of the Dior Diorshow Waterproof Pro Liner is definitely the packaging. The classic, sleek black Dior pencil has a flat, thin point that’s intended to let you have a thin or wide line depending on how you angle it. These pigmented shades have gel-like, glide on formula that’s incredibly long lasting and waterproof.
Dior Diorshow Waterproof Pro Liner in Pro Anthracite #082 is a dark grey, Backstage Black #092 is a black and Pro Mahogany #772 is a dark burgundy. All three shades are very pigmented.
Although the Pro Anthracite and Pro Mahogany shades glide on extremely smoothly, I found that my older Backstage Black has started to dry out a bit and although creamy it is less “gel-like”. It also had broken off at the base of crayon, although honestly it’s possible I dropped it. I tend to drop things. I put it back in and it seems to work fine now though.
In the above look I’m wearing the Dior Diorshow Waterproof Pro Liner in Pro Mahogany, along with the matching mascara (reviewed here) and although I absolutely adore the shade you can probably see my issue. I am not experienced with liner since I don’t wear it often, but I found it very difficult to get close to the lash line, and also to get a line much thinner than what you see above. I thought that the style of applicator would give me more precision, but I actually found it more difficult to use than my much-adored Diorshow Kohl Stick.
If you give the Dior Diorshow Waterproof Pro Liner a minute to set, I did find that it was smudge-proof and lasted all day. It had decent lasting power on the water line, but I couldn’t get it to apply there nicely just because of the applicator.
For me, these Dior Diorshow Waterproof Pro Liners are a miss. I absolutely adore the Pro Mahogany, so if you are going to pick one up I think that one is worthwhile because of the unique shade, but for a black liner unless you already use a similar applicator and enjoy it I think there are easier to use options. It’s possible this is just me not being good at applying liner, but if you’re in the same boat, I highly recommend the creamy, long-lasting Dior Diorshow Kohl Sticks!
Have you ever tried a liner applicator similar to Dior Diorshow Waterproof Pro Liner? How did it work for you?
